There should also be a way of importing the private key into your new Mycelium wallet, not just moving the coins over, in case you need to keep that particular address for any reason.

Yes.

1. Go to settings and enable advanced mode.
2. Go to keys and push the button with the key and a plus sign.
3. Choose "Scan" and scan the private key from the backup. You also need to enter det encryption key.
4. If you only want to use your old address you can delete the new address that was created when you re-installed the app. It's important that the address is empty if you choose to delete it!!! If you don't delete it, you should make a new backup!!!
5. Go to settings and disable advanced mode

I have the private key QR code and 15 digit password from the original wallet...but am not sure how to access the BTC with it. According to what I read, as long as you have this and lose your phone you should be alright, so I imagine this would be the same process?

But when I reinstall the wallet, scan this QR code, and enter the password, it tells me my key doesn't match my BTC address (which is a new one bc I reinstalled the APP)

Just ignore the degens. If you have the private key as QR and the password you can do the following:

#1 hit menu -> offline wallet
#2 select qr-code
#3 scan private key.
#4 mycelium should detect it as encrypted private key and ask for the password
#5 enter password and wait for encryption (takes >1 minute on old phone)
#6 transfer funds to another of your addresses you still control.
#7 mycelium should warn you that it will not store the private key, so make sure to transfer the whole balance

I got that "does not match your key/address" error as well once, but I forgot how. IIRC you just took a wrong turn and "offline wallet" is the option you want even though it sounds wrong.

Got it! Thank you for the help!!! Smiley

No problems, just thought I would mention it as I know a person is stressed in such a situation and usually try and follow instructions down to the letter.

Just a note, the menu option is 'Cold Storage' and not offline wallet, just for in case you were looking for 'offline wallet'  Grin

Yeah sorry wording might be different for different languages. Using the german version.

If you have your private key and the 15 digit psw. Then everything is fine.
Take a deep breath and be cool.
The post before this one explain what to do.

Your coins are safe.

Have you tried the Cold Storage option?

Go to settings and select 'Cold Storage' and then scan the QR code of the key.Not sure if this will work as I have not done this myself before, was just thinking thatthis might be the way to get the key into your wallet so that you can move/use the funds.

Hi...I had the mycelium app on my phone.  I gave someone the BTC address for my mycelium wallet and they sent me some BTC.

A few days later I deleted the app from by phone, but reinstalled it two days later. Same person then had to send me 0.07 BTC, and I told them the same address was fine, not even thinking about it may be different after reinstalling.

Is there any way to get this 0.07 BTC back? I know the address it went to, but I don't know how to access it. I really need this BTC Sad
Gone baby Gone, bitcoin is no registration based while using a wallet apps,Private key is what you must keep secure

Thats funny.... no. You trashed your private key when you removed mycelium. Thats why the app has key backup feature.

Why are you such a 5 yrs old? Its not rocket science.

Thanks for the answer...especially that second part. You must be a pleasant person.
