Open Transactions can use it as a master identity to validate your revokable nyms with. Though it can also use various other methods or you can just use the nym's hash directly without layers of signers validating it like a certificate authority.

This method of using namecoin as similar to a certificate authority is kind of generic too, you can use it for various things, like open signon systems to sign on to multiple sites and stuff like that.

That's something that I didn't know thanks! Pretty significant use other than .bit domains.  Wink

bitmessage has namecoin integration

...

it can be used for lots of "awesome" stuff.. but most fancy projects i think are on hold while the namecoin code gets updated to that of bitcoin..

As my Namecoin purse gets larger Im wondering, is Namecoin actually being used for anything significant? I know I can trade them for BTC but that seems lame. It just seems that nothing has really been done up to this point to further the project. Is anyone doing something worth looking into with Namecoin or should I just keep letting this stash get larger till some major developments are made?  Huh
It's being used for DNS, thats about all I know (I sell it for BTC as well)
