I entered the pre order game and i'm not sure it was worth it... i got back 1/3 of the investment and the recent ups in diff are saddening. i don't i'll roi on anything at this point... oh well, lesson learned.

Do what everyone else does. Sell the kit on eBay to claw as much back as possible Smiley

Just don't attempt it again .... its going to be even more savage this next 6 months.

Just keep mining until your new gear arrives that's how it always works.

As long as the mining covers the electricity costs don't worry about it.

To get the best price sell when there is a jump in Bitcoin price so there is more interest.

Eventually Bitcoin will break through the $1000 barrier and the news will be all over it.

I have a Gen 1 Avalon (75 gh/s) I'm considering selling as well, though don't know what a good price for it would be. I would consider trading up for a Jupiter... let me know what you want to sell it for and anyone feel free to PM me for a price on the Avalon Gen 1.

What are you selling and how much??

Trying to sort myself here.  I sold all of my BFL gear about 3 months ago and splurged on a Jupiter, but now I find myself, less than 100 days later thinking that I need to sell again.
I am thinking that Bitcoin mining isn't for me.  This constant turnover of machines is stressful not only selling, but stressful in regards to having to constantly be on TOP of your mining gear.  If you let it rot, it will become worthless.

TL;DR - Those of you with older gear, what's your plan moving forward?

IMO, too soon to sell an efficient machine like that.

that said, put it for sale in the local classifieds (craigslist, kijiji, etc) for 50% more than its capable of mining and see what happens. if it sells-great! if not-keep mining with it.

I sold some antminers this past week for far more than i expected. I sold 3 of them at $2750 each with power supplies and another for 3BTC with a power supply. More than enough money/bitcoins to order 6 more that deliver early next week (maybe 5.25 units if you consider the week or so of lost mining income)

If you aren't enjoying it and its stressing you, of course sell it. Stick in on eBay and bag the money now.

What do you mean trade with the profit?

I imagine I would realistically get what for a 670GH Jupiter?

Name a price. I would be interested.

I'm still running my B2 Avalon (@85GH/750W).  Don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon.

You must have never had a GPU farm if you think maintaining ASICs is a chore.

As for moving forward, I stayed out of the pre-order game.  Currently I'm running ~1.4TH of Antminer S1 units.  I'm doing a hell of a lot better than most everyone who got involved with pre-orders. I plan to stay at this level until the Cointerra/Monarch/HF debacle plays out.
