Many of us must have done KYC in several bounties in the past, have any of you experienced any strange events? like getting bill or whatever. is it possible that our data is still safe with past scam projects?

are you like me who is always worried about personal data?

You have a reason to be worried because you have no control or you don't know where your sensitive information will land, it's like letting people you don't know to have control over your data and you cannot charge them because you don't know these people in the first place, the only KYC I have done so far is on one reputable and I can sleep better without thinking of a leak, this is a warning to all not to get involve in a project that you don't know.

I have never done KYC other than for market exchange purposes. I never gave it all for airdrops and events like that. So far I feel safe. but for some people are really doing KYC for ICO or airdrop and it is very possible it will happen. I once read the news that the KYC ICO data was sold.

Been here on this market for a while and i didn't experienced about strange events because i dont easily submit any kyc is its sudden required by a service or any platforms.

The thing i do experience is receiving strange messages out from nowhere which is crypto related investment which is obvious to be a hype scam or ponzi one.

Remember been using my mobile on several sites which i do only suspect for it to be a reason.

[Nope]No hype delivers more than hope
Lucky I never sent kyc for bounty. I think it's confusing. Just to get a rewards, bounty participants are billed for their personal data because they are token holders under regulation. Meanwhile, the tokens will be listed and traded on a free market that anyone can own.

Whether your KYC is sold or not, you should be more skeptical before doing it. We don't know who we are dealing with and the black market is wider and more hidden than we imagine.

Nothing strange happened to me yet. But it is possible that scammers make money by selling our data. So we should refrain from doing KYC in every exchange or any new (suspicious) project.

are you like me who is always worried about personal data?

Yes, I'm not comfortable with it. Because KYC kills my privacy.

If its not safe don't ever submit you KYC because that's how the problem start from it wherein due to some scam project, actually it's easy to identify scam project if you will make an observation first before doing anything.. Yes that's true and that's what others doing as well which is very helpful to prevent such issue.  Indeed there's a lot of way if you want to protect your personal information and that's making research to obtain important things about the poject wherein it's up to us if we will put efforts just to secure anything..

Personally, if it is not clear that the results obtained from the bounty will never fill the KYC on the project, but on the other hand, if it has a high enough value, I will not object to filling the KYC.
So far, I haven't had anything strange happen to me even though I have filled the KYC on the project.

I don't experience any strange events, and I think my data is still safe. If you worried about that, you could search for the bounties that don't require participants to fills KYC, and if you found that, you can skip it.

We need to be careful because some bounties will not say that they require KYC for the participants, but at the end of the bounty, they ask their members to fill KYC. That is soo strange.

If you experience that, I think you need to search for more information about the project because we don't know if they can protect their member's data.

A lot of people who are really not aware of this, don't know the consequences of giving their personal data to random people on the internet, especially in exchange for scam tokens (if in bounty campaigns).
I also tried this before, but not just quite until I realized it, since before I still don't have any idea about these.
I only received, random emails, the email address is the most prone of this.

In any case, if you ever given them your personal information, it is considered sold or compromised. As a result, the majority of bounty hunters you've encountered are most likely from a third-world country that doesn't care whether their personal information is sold on the black market. This is a major issue. Before do kyc you have to double check the team and the project.

Yes, Once information has been posted on the internet it become public information that's why we should refrain from sharing sensitive information publicly. Even for bounty, As much as possible don't join bounty campaign that requires KYC

Very good question, sometimes i use to wonder myself what exactly happens to the personal data submitted for kyc, do they actually keep them safe or just dump the data carelessly where other people can get hold of it or do they themselves already dispose the data to black market, i can not believe they will protect and keep those data safe,

Reason why am trying so hard to reduce my involvement with any project that requires kyc, i have already done kyc in some top exchange and some few project, i think no more kyc for me.

are you now receiving some emails that you have never received before? That's probably they've sold not only your identity but also contact details.
Yes, I have received several emails and sms some time ago, I previous joined BCNEX campaign and I did KYC there to get payment, so I immediately remembered that sms and email I received came from the data they had sold
Well, that's what really usually happening and I've seen people that have shared the same experience as you. They've taken your information and now there's another company or project that's doing their advertisement and you're now part of their database.
That's annoying.

Who knows what they do with our personal data when you submit it to them, even though they always assure users that the personal information will not be disclose to a third party but i highly doubt sincerity, if you are unlucky, some careless or dubious team may compromise your personal data intentionally or unintentionally.

Your date will never be safe even not in scam projects , how sure you are that those legit projects that has your date will keep them still ?

it is easy to sell them all to third parties that interested in our details so stop dreaming that being Bounty hunter will keep you safe and protected.
You are the most vulnerable member of the community and always been the target of greedy companies .

But until now there are still no complaints about the identity of the bounties who report that something is billed so I hope they are just a scam of bringing money and don't sell ID data on the black market, of course this will be a lot of worrying apart from BCNEX is a scam project until now.
It's hard to use that as a proof that bounty KYC is not sold on the marketplace, mainly because not everyone pay attention to their KYC data and which bounties they send their data to. I'd rather assume that all of my data are prepared to be sold anytime on the internet, instead of relying on optimism.

Just like how people should prevent sickness instead of relying on treatment. The cost is way bigger.

Are you sure you have only done KYC in that bounty?
BCNEX is one of the bounties whose project namely exchange, becomes a scam.
Yes, I did KYC there, at first everything looked very clear and very convincing, that's why I dared to do KYC. But suddenly they turned into scam, now I am very worried Cry

So whatever the current bounty that is required for KYC, it is better to avoid it so that there is nothing to be desired considering there has been a lot of news about the sale of personal data to someone to be misused.
Previous bounties had many hunters doing KYC for just 2 cents.

You have no assurance for the security of those private data called KYC even when the project is legit because you have given your details to someone who called developers so its their choice whether they want to sell it and make money out of it or not.

Anyway you are talking about scam projects then yes its 100% not safe anymore.

If you have received a strange bill or something that you didn't know about and your identity already sold by the scammers. Your identity already used by another scammer to did criminal activities maybe.
Everyone is always feeling worried if their identity being used by scammers who like to scam others. There are lots of hunters who have been getting scammed by the scam project in the past.
The scammers were not only fooling them but they are also taking all of their identities. Be careful when joining in any bounty or airdrop.

once you receive emails from someone or from a company you didn't subscribe to or know, it's sure that your data had been sold. sometimes it not literally sold. there are email farmers actually who collect online and they are paid by someone who wants to do email marketing.

but once you have google account and use chrome where you login you email, you can't hide anymore. especially to someone who uses this email to trading accounts.

When we have done KYC on any platform, it is likely that they can trade our data, even on trusted platforms because hackers can penetrate the security and steal the users data on that platform.

I have ever seen that the jinbi or scam project developer was creating a thread about selling the personal data on the service section. I suspect that the KYC from the bounty hunters.
I can't remember it correctly whether it's jinbi developers or something else but i have ever seen that before.

If you are getting the bill from somewhere that you didn't know about and then your data already used by a stranger. It's still possible your data is still safe.

I barely saw a campaign manager who required bounty hunter to fulfill the KYC first before participating or before they get their stakes. Although I don't participate a lot on bounty hunting since it's hard to trust someone who's not reputable enough to manage the campaign. I knew some before but I don't see them anymore here, they must have been on another journey instead of wasting their time on these shitcoins.

Anyway, your personal data is considered as sold or compromised if you ever sent them your personal details. That's why most participants you've seen on bounty hunter are most likely coming from third world country that doesn't really care about their personal information being sold in the black market.

There are two issues with the above line:

  • The moment you've sent [sold] your data for those bounties, you should consider those as compromised data.
  • You mentioned "past scam projects", so expect those scammers to capitalize on every opportunity that they could get their hands on.

I've seen a few times already that these scammers [with new accounts] tried selling such data on both of the marketplaces in this forum.

What personal data you talking about? KYC? I've never joined or promote any bounty project that requires KYC verification before because not all of them can be trusted and some bounties are pure scam too, KYC in bounties is not for me, information is a very delicate thing to just give out like that

Based up in experience about bounty program in the past then i havent tried to sent out any documents just for the sake of earning those bounty tokens and wayback majority of projects
doesnt really ask out KYC but as the we do go ahead in future years where government is trying to regulate some projects then thats the time they do imposed up KYC
excluding those scam ones which are bit obvious.

You cant really tell if those submitted documents or KYC is really on the safe side on where those informations  wouldnt leak somewhere in online world.

There are people who doesnt really mind much about their identity and do still keep sending out those documents just for the sake of getting those tokens which
value are still questionable.

Primary thing on why we are here on crypto is for that anonymity and that totally opposes on it.
