Zeus at least delivered SOME hardware - late, not meet performance stated targets, but better than a lot of other companies.
They also were used by Innosilicon as a manufacturer for the Farm Boy gear.

With that said though, even if PandaMiner DOES deliver as claimed, I don't see their pricing being competative with even 4-card home-built rigs, and the NON-STANDARD nature of a lot of the rig (the GPU modules in specific are NOT widely used) greatly limit it's resale value down the road.

I LIKE THE UNIT QUITE A BIT.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/review-of-panda-miner-coming-up-1733723

the major flaw is chinese win 10 that may not switch to english .

I will need to pull the ssd and attempt an install of win 10

Issues are can I put in a better cpu ?  can I get into the bios so far no.

I would hate to clear bios pull stock ssd add new ssd and boom unit is bricked due to clearing of bios.

One thing for sure i have mixed english and chinese windows and unless I find a guy to translate to switch this to english it is a hassle.  this unit does 1725h for zec at 1060 watts at the kill-a-meter

so 25 kwatts a day = 2.50 usd per day and  750 usd a month.  1725 h is about .14 zec or .007 btc  so a 10 cent power guy makes 4.50 usd  a day with it.

it is small and compact.

I did some calcs on the pandaminer on this post at 10c kwh (which will change on may 15th to around 13c kwh summer rates) but anyway 10c kwh rate
it takes about a year to ROI ...so anyway you can look at the below post for the calculator used etc with the panda miner at 1760mh and 1060 watts

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17353182

also edited: for my shameful running away from GPU and POW mining (you can skip that part) ....but to be brief took a loss on 2 gpu rigs and sprinted out
of this...a buddy got the equip for a loss on my part..he LIKELY can ROI now in less then 1 year...(both of us were unlikely to make thou imho)

anyway chump or champ on this decision (or pandaminer vs gpu rigs) time will tell I guess...anyway put it on record I'm out....

anyway have fun with the calculator link for your own use on your equipment and the above and your electric prices

me I'm out now Sad

a test unit arrives from them to my home this Friday.

The first launch is limited to 500 pieces.

Lets see how it works and how  many can be ordered safely from them.

They sent the unit to me with no payment,  I am to buy it or return it after a week of testing.

Zeus  started out great to , then after months took pre orders then said they wouldn't be selling there new 300 MH miner that would have out done the A2 and you were going to be able to buy to upgrade kits the whole nine yards then they riped off millions if this is Zeus with a different name .  I saw you got one for review and gonna watch that thread .

The sharing of phone number is a little bit of a red flag.  I think it is a neat looking piece of hardware and am excited to see phil's review on it.   The two things I have trouble with

*Trusting a new company in this space.  Just so many scam's start out good and then vanish.  They really are going to fight a uphill battle to become trusted.  And the sharing of phone number in thread is interesting.
*Is resell value as you will be only selling it as a miner.  Even if everything go 100 percent good you could loose a decent amount of cash not being able to sell GPU's off one by one.   And not to mention losing warranty that the GPU's come with that is a pretty big thing to lose.

So really cool idea but not sure it makes sense for most of us miner's.  If you were to start a industrial GPU farm I can see a possible market.  But I don't think it will be for the common hobby miner.

I am more concerned about their involvement in ZeusHash and ZeusMiner.  I cannot remember all the details but I do not think it turned out so well for the customers that ordered products from those places.  Although I was not directly involved in it, it would send up a red flag and I would think twice before sending them my money.

The fact that philipma is getting a test unit does little to alleviate the anxiety over their previous issues.  (If they did happen)

I am hoping some people that bought some of that gear can chime in

Yeah  last thing I want to do is give gear an okay  and I am the only one to get it.

The zeus miners ran ver hot and had a lot of issues.  I never ordered one but do remember there where a lot of issues.

This item on sale now is 2300 usd with shipping  it is costly.

It would be expensive to ship the entire item back to hong kong  the warranty is 30 days.

Lastly Mine come today  but if it is great works fine and I tell everu one this people will buy it.

Many years back  Avalon sent out a handful of great miners and some people earn 30,000 usd a month for a while.  Many orders were placed  due to that and many order were not fulfilled netting over 1 million usd to avalon and zero to the later buyers.

I do not want people to have this happen to them.

If the gear is a good piece of gear.  I would advise everyone to  be careful about this.

500 orders at 2300 = 1,150,000

So sending 1 great unit to me that I will return or buy only costs them a few hundred if I ship it back.  If they sell out  and do not deliver any gear it would be sad.

Now to argue for Zeus gear
Zeus gear ran hot and did not meet efficiency claimed.

The gear did get delivered.  It was asic.  Al LTC mining ran into an asic buzzsaw and Joss of zenmining's ponzi

Six or seven asic's came out and difficulty went to the moon.  then gridseed sold tons of gear and kept dropping the price.

Joss of zenmining had 20 million in wallstreet mining and ran a huge ponzi  he destroyed ltc with false mining.  price dropped from 35 to 4 diff went to the moon.

So his actions and gridseed's real gear price drops made  Zeus look worse then they were.

This gear if it is real and ready to ship.  Will run hot and loud.  But it is gpu  and 500 x 8 = 4000 gpus.  that is not a lot of gpus.  it would not destroy the diff of coins like asics and Josh of zenminer did

30 day warranty is the same as no warranty .  not true but lets face it if you buy parts and diy a unit here parts can be replaced

what is in the favor of this company is many parts may be sourced in the usa.

When I start review I will post here.   here is link but not a review

they did reply on reddit saying "We can provide half a year' s warranty period, considering a long distance repair and replace. PandaMiner Service".

still, after the recent poor warranty performance of bitmain tech and the cost is more expensive than off the shelf components, those you can at least get year, 2 year, 3 year warranties etc

Not sure I'd take that deal with a 30 day warranty...though am impressed they sent you a unit to review with out payment.

Look forward to you review. Post the link on this thread as well.

Interesting Find -- Here's what I've found so far.

My guess is that they are the same company -- It is known that Zeus > Halleybtc > OxBTC and IMO this now links Pandaminer to all of that.

It's a shame too because Pandaminer appears to show so much promise. Either someone has made a serious error or some really, really bad business choices. I'm not gonna throw around the S word at Pandaminer yet but this doesn't look promising.

I am always looking at new mining hardware but stumbled on some info I wanted to post here to get some feedback.  It appears that PandaMiner shares the same phone number as  ZeusMiner, ZeusHash, OXBTC,  HalleyBTC.  I don't recall all the details but I am thinking that those are/were scam sites.
