Interesting piece leading to some conclusions... (in Russian) https://vk.com/wall-147244562_1423

There is nowhere in the article that tells us that they are going to create one, it's all about Facebook coin, if they are going to launch, then why not but we have seen how coins dedicated to specific countries, are not successful we do not have top coin in the market that is dedicated to specific country.

I didn't click on the link, but isn't it Russian has it's own Crypto Rubble already?
I think that idea was already dead. Why people are thinking too much about this libra coin? there's no operation yet you are all assuming that everyone would love to use it. And now that idea that Russia will make it's own libra coin? come on...

It is only a matter of time, Nations will start having their coins, what separate Bitcoin from them is transparency and you know the number of coins that would be in circulation but this coins is possible they would continue to print them out of thin air, but the issue is, is their chain going to be public for verification

I think it would not be "its own libra coin" because vk is not as popular as facebook, you may see people having facebook in Russia but you do not see that many people having vk accounts outside of Russia which means in globalization aspect the facebook company is far superior than vk. This shows that even if vk starts its own coin I would think it wouldn't make as much noise as telegrams coin let alone facebooks libra.

I would hope that with them more and more this kind of stuff happens and becomes something huge because even if the world fiat system turns into libra totally instead of these horrible fiat currencies that would make it closer to us crypto people than what we have right now, its still not enough and we need better but at least its a good step towards us.

If I am not mistaken, they already have their coin. But making another that will benefit us is surely a good thing. But it's been years now and I don't see any progress with this launch of this libra-ish coin. And having a competition like Libra coin is a challenge for the projects that wants to follow its footsteps.
It was no one else but the bear in the north-the president of Russia-Mr. Putin who hinted and said that they are thinking about introducing their crypto Ruble. According to him, it will accelerate the pace of growth of the economy and Russia will be able to minimize the expenditure and will cut down costs. So yes they have I think their Ruble coin.

Interesting stuff about the Facebook initiative. I just did not understand one thing - what does Russia have to do with it? Why does the author of the topic mention the name of the country in the title of the topic?
No, Russia does not plan to launch any of its own LibraCoin. And in the article about this is not a word. Stop spreading rumors.

no matter what plans to launch Russia. Facebook has a much larger audience than the population of Russia, so people will still use Facebook currency

What i have read in the news is that Russia has decided to welcome crypto and it will encourage projects and investments specified in this category and they will also welcome already working companies and also allocate land for offices and crypto business, i think this is a step towards right direction and many more countries will soon follow it.

there is a huge difference between a "company created" cryptocurrency and a "government created" cryptocurrency. the gov-coin is created by government and controlled by them and is legal from day one and won't go down unless the country goes down just like their local fiat currency.
but a company-coin is not legal at first or by default and it can change in the future. Libra is a company coin which is not yet even legal and there is a lot of drama going on that some even speculate it might not be released in 2020 as promised and can die in its infancy.

as for your question, many countries including Russia have been looking into creating their own country-coin for a couple of years now. we don't need to click on a shady link to figure that out.

I didn't click on the link, but isn't it Russian has it's own Crypto Rubble already? And what incentives do they get in they are going to launch their supposedly Libra coin? Again, Russia seems to contradict themselves for the last two years already that you have to take everything with a grain of salt, specially if they are talking about cryptocurrency, so I doubt that this will prosper.
