This is a "one time process", no monitoring is made. You have to sweep the funds again if you receive more coins on those addresses

^this ... but you can also create a special electrum wallet by importing private keys. Just "restore" an electrum wallet, but instead of the seed put a list of private keys into the box. This wallet will have no seed, but its a good way to keep a backup of old keys you no longer use that might still receive some keys.

Nice...

For me the ideal implementation will be to have a key seed on that walled and all the future "change addresses" will generated from that seed.  That combined with prioritize the use of funds from "no seed addresses" will make my "ideal client"

Hi,

I have a very old official wallet and I'm thinking about moving to Electrum.

I have a few old addresses that receive money from time to time.

My understanding is that the swiping process will move the bitcoins from the old keys to the new deterministic format.

My question is if this is a "one time process" or if Electrum will keep monitoring the old address  and transfer any new amount that is sent to them...

Cheers
