I'll never be surprised if the account in question has multiple accounts since just recently I reported that user having multiple accounts here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53920570

The user is evading his ban ad needs to be ban as well. It seems I forgot to report them to moderators, I'll do it once again if I switch to my PC my mobile is kinda hassle to report it.

Edit: Reported.

God danmed! I just want to ask about what I see, what evidence do you need here if it's not an allegation?

Sometimes I see members of higher ranks who have silly posts, it doesn't even useful, they just write it there for signature campaigns and making money  Angry
You can watch how "Multiple Account Patrol" identified multiple accounts who abused the trust here, merits, and bounty. We don't have some restriction sending merits to any post e.i : Memes, Shitpost, and Other post

All depends on the perception of each user send merits to any post, but sending merits to a shit post its just wasting that merits. Account can be marked as multiple account if the account :
1. One of them, admitted by himself is he/she account and used the account to join a bounty campaign in the same campaign went the campaign has some rules "Multiple accounts is prohibited".
2. There have some connection transaction on these account on his address altcoin i.e : sending ethereum/bounty Token each other and try to sell the token with a single wallet (But some people sometimes buying other people token and because of that they marked as multiple accounts, these situational its optional need to investigation first for the transaction with their chat history and compare it with the transaction on the chain.)
3. Sending merits each other and get caught because the account is the same person.
4. Try to raising his trust by sending fake trust to each other without explanation & evidence on the trust.

Sometimes one user can be caugh with 2-4 because all of them have some connection for the case, but as long you find one of them its already enough to marked them multiple account.

Probaly could be "selling merits" but because no evidence for my speculation so we cannot takes that reason to tagging the account only based on your own speculation without any proof.

No. What one can do is wait and see if he manages to make more connections that what you’ve presented in the OP. Normally, were there to be a connection, you’d be able to spot it further down the road with more hint indicators.

For example, using (nearly) the same hint indicators as you used in the OP, someone could say that the 2 merits received yesterday on your account from @markjamrobin are of the same nature:

-   The account woke up recently after a long period of inactivity (see SecLog):
Code:
February 26, 2020, 08:23:54 AM - markjamrobin - woke up

-   That account has never sent merits before meriting your post.

-   That account, according to the Trust ratings, is an account farmer (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=145056)

The above has the same ingredients as the case you present in the OP, but you probably do not convey that it should arouse suspicion here right? Same applier to the OP until there are more points of contrast. I usually need way more coincidences to draw a patter that leads to an acusation of alleged connected accounts that merit their Alts.

You’ll often encounter posts that startle you why they were merited, and others that seem over the top, but that is what subjectivity entails. Subjectivity will though always be house to abuse, and there is no way around that, but this case is in no way proof of any wrong doing.
So we have to get used to it  Cheesy

I don't make accusations, it's unnecessary, this is to ask, I have little experience here, so I ask to understand.
You must present a valid evidence if you are questioning the merit that he sent, I believe we should not question merits without valid proof that they are of the same account, I have seen some useless posts getting 2 to 5 merits from a single person and I also seen one guy giving merit to a guy who just answer yes, but that yes is happens to be very important to the one asking the question.

Hi everyone, I need to learn a little bit about the links between accounts in this community  Cheesy
First, I saw this topic: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/effect-of-bitcoin-on-new-tokens-5228768
It is just a normal post, and it receives a merit  Cheesy But more importantly, it received a merit from Kaliecious, he didn't work long ago and it was the first merit he sent. Check here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=32408 and here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=32408
So, is this the way for these people to create a new account in this community? Is this an abuse problem?

A single merit doesn't mean much. Like DdmrDdmr said, it isn't much to go on. I've seen worthless posts get 50 merits from a single person, and it's usually not seen as "abuse." I wouldn't worry about it.

Having just 1 earned merit under the belt, there’s not much to go by. There is really no evidence that those accounts are linked (i.e. belonging to the same person). You’ll often encounter posts that startle you why they were merited, and others that seem over the top, but that is what subjectivity entails. Subjectivity will though always be house to abuse, and there is no way around that, but this case is in no way proof of any wrong doing.

Now you can monitor those account overtime, if you wish, and bring to light something more blatant were it to occur.
