Yes,nowadays forking bitcoin and creating a new forked coin with bitcoin name has been found to be more easy than creating a new altcoin.It has almost become a trend now.Some miners even two join together and decide to fork bitcoin and name it starting with bitcoin.Just pump it and earn pocket full of money.

Forks have really caused all of this high fees. It's caused a lot of hype where a lot of people started buying into Bitcoin just to get their forked coins. Now it's left the bitcoin network in ruin. Hopefully it will recover in a few months but I fear any other forks that happen will affect it again and prevent Bitcoin being used as a currency adopted by the main stream.

Yes "FOTK IT" and i hope Segwit does very well myself because BTC won't scale
and needs a radical redesign so maybe this new team will sort some of the mess
out.
