Well, I think the later is the correct one, and not the first, it's important we understand that bonuses is what attracts most gambler to want to play on a new casino, and this sites trying to gain or make money promoting their affiliates links, do sometimes come up with such tactics as advertising bonuses that does not exist, just to cajole their readers into clicking and signing on what ever casino they are promoting, but this is not to say that they all are the same, there are still some genuine ones, like I explained in my previous comment before this one; on this thread.

Some of them would even get your 2FA as well because they will design the backend of the phishing page in a way that when you click on the login button, you are redirected to a 2FA page where they ask you to enter your 2FA code if you have one or click skip if you don't, and if you enter the code, they use that code for withdrawal if they get it on time.

The key words are "up to". That means it could be a bonus of 1% and technically they would not be lying. But there are hidden conditions which I personally consider deceitful marketing.

Stake is a casino with a high reputation, so they do not make fake promises or deceitful marketing.

My advice for @zTec is that he should always be careful, there are a lot of ugly things happening on the internet now in the name of marketing and others, so extreme caution in this situation matters as it may not even come from Stake at all, at least, that is a possibility. Because many websites are advertising insane benefits just to have certain access to people's details or for phishing purposes, that's my first advice.

Either way, it is best to first confirm with the representative of Stake, one way or the other, they will be aware of that offer. Many streamer offers like this. Seen many of this in their Kick.cok banners. Most likely, there are some legitimate one and some that are not. Just register with the one you know truly offer bonuses, not just the one you read about on social media like x.com. Sometimes you think they are affiliated, but they are not. They just take referrals without giving anything in return.

If you see a casino that is advertising their bonus on others website, for you to confirm if it's true, you need to visit the official website of that casino and you will also see such ads in their casino which will confirm if what is advised is true or not. Advertisers can mistakenly give out wrong information too but to verify by your self, you have to visit the site that has the advert.

I have not come across such advertisement for stake on any website and since I have not used the casino, I don't know if the bonus is real. If you visit the casino, you should know but the casino will not just give you the bonus instantly as you play in their casino. There are other criteria you will be required to meet before the bonus will be granted.

Actually, that's also new to me.
In the past stake never offered any deposit bonus, and I mean never. Guess they took a page of many fiat bookies and added this for some affiliates.
Bonus terms on the other hand of having to wager 40x is quite a high number. I remember for example the 100% deposit bonus on bet365 was always like 3x the deposit and 3x the bonus for sports bets, which was quite fair. Odds had to be minimum 1.5 though.

Don't know if they changed those numbers.

If you deposit 500$ and have to wager 40x seems high but thinking about it if you play dice at 1.01 odds with 98% wining chance you can wager 20000$ with an expected loss of around 200$. So there are 300$ left of the bonus.
Not sure though if low risk bets are excluded from the bonus terms, this might be the case.

2. Stake announced that the wager varies depending on the RTP of the individual game and that the wager is higher for games with a higher RTP. That, in my opinion, is fine, I just don't understand why they then compiled a list of over 100 games that should not be played for the condition.

Websites that advertise this type of bonus should have this clearly published and explained, otherwise they may mislead players. It is not right to get a new player through your affiliate link and collect a commission on it, and at the same time put an (inexperienced) player in the problem of not being able to fulfill the condition due to lack of important information.

You can't just signed up on stake.com and use those feature you need to activate it with the deposit, if you deposit then you unlock it. I have signed up on stake.com but weren't able to use it except I would have to make deposit, however, those sites that advertised some specific amount of bonus that looks attractive to me I would say it's another strategy to get people signed up on their site and most of them are so strict and you must some required level before you would unlock those feature it could be either by reaching a specific amount of deposit before you could be allowed to have that access. Which sites you are referring to where you found the offer?
The only site I'm familiar enough is btcgosu, there is also an offer 200% deposit bonus on Stake if you sign up through the link on btcgosu.
This kind of offer is a special offer which can be found at some affiliate site such as btcgosu, it is a legit offer if you ask me.
About the terms, I'm not sure about the wagering requirements or other terms about the bonus so better to ask the site where you found the offer.

What I can say in this regard is that anyone who comes across a thing like this should first contact Stake.com itself and not just assume that it is not possible to avoid missing out on good offers that are also true. There are different packages and promotions going on in companies all the time that may not even be general, so we should not conclude outrightly. It's possible that there are specific codes that will be imputed or direct links that will hint Stake that you are from this company/influencer/partners and for this purpose and package at the same time. Fiirst, what you should know is that, any bonus that is not officially announced by stake themself is not official, and this means that such bonus might be a bonus offered by an individual or company that is affiliated with Stake, that is, it's an individual sponsored bonus and this means that for you to enjoy that bonus, you have to sign up on stake using the referral link shared on the site where the bonus is posted, so, owner of that site awards that bonus to those who use his or her link, while Stake reward the owner of the site with referral commission as stated in the affiliate terms of service.

So, sometimes, this bonus may be a way to lure people into signing up on this casino using their luck, in the end, they get referral commission, you get nothing.

The bonus is legit, but there is a trick, it has a roll-over, i don't know what's the exact number but you will have to wager the amount x times, it could be 40 times or 60, I'm not sure, so, if you depo $500, then you will have $1500 balance, and wager it x30 (just as an example, i don't know the exact number) then you will have to wager $45,000 to be able to get that bonus money. And different games have different wagering rules, is not the same to wager on house games than slots than sports. Be sure to read the Terms before taking any bonus.

Exactly there was no need for creating additional thread for this because there is an existing thread {announcement thread) already for the stake.com and the question would have been asked there for quick respond.
