Apparently, the total initial number of QRK isn't 247,000,000, but 247,605,120 -- so Quarks can still be mined at the full rate.

If you still don't notice it yet, check this

247,061,329 -- Mined Coins
247,000,000 -- Max Coins Cap + 0.5% PA

so that means....  you cant mine qrk anymore?

Maybe he is saying that developers and early miners are hoarding all the coins and can potentially manipulate and dump their coins to control the QRK market?  It seems people on the forums love or hate QRK.

You can still mine qrk.  The maximum coin count is set to 500,000,000 in the source code.  It's just that the reward is only 1 coin per block now, which is where they get the 0.5% PA inflation from, because it will take many years to hit 500M and then it is no longer inflationary.

Thank you for the reassurances.  I feared that others would post that they had no faith in QRK and DVC.  I mostly wanted to experiment by buying some lesser-known cryptocurrencies - most of what I have invested is in BTC and LTC.

Generally, I invest for the long-term.
You are safe if you have invested Long Term.
If you accept my ideas (Which I use in My Trading Life)
I will suggest you to buy 200% amount of what you have already IE. If you have 10K QRK then buy 20K in this price so your recent price will go up and your 10K QRK seems cheap and hold untill QKR rise more higher then your first buying price, May be you noticed and Understand what am i saying. I used such almost all the time. I hace DEV in same situation but now I am in Profit from DEV I had 200K high Price (IE. .00004 LTC) when it fall down up to 0.00002 I bought 800K so my last 200K's price is now almost settled with recent 800K so i am now in profit in Recent price which is 0.000028 but i will wait price to rise more then 0.00004. I recomend you
Final decision remains on you.
Good Luck

Note: Be sure when you buy in Lower Price let price come all the way down dont panic buy, Let price come all the way down and when went back upwards of 4-5(Sometime in 1-2 Situation must be observed like how much buy orders are there) candle then you could surely buy, normally continewing 4-5 candle up ward is harder to fall back again to the lower point.

Is the Price of QRK and DVC Hibernating?  I bought a small amount of each a few weeks back (unfortunately when the price was high) and they are worth almost half of what I paid for them.  Generally, I invest for the long-term.

yes, in my hands price of QRK is hibernating mostly. Smiley and it is a bit bigger than yesterday(I bought some today, 4 folds lower than at the top) Smiley

DVC went up through 193 Satoshis per coin a while back; its previous highs had been higher, well over 200, once even over 300.

These low periods are great because as it goes lower and lower it eats up the lowball buy offers, providing nice cheap coins to put back up on the sell side as nice highball offers waiting for the next upward wave.
