Thank you for the attention, Feel free to use our Idea. If you can better what we have done I don't see it as an issue. That said I read some comments here which are very practical observations about the product. We are laying low at the moment and redesigning the whole product based on learning and data we collected running this service since last 18 months. Key is user value in long term. We have had tons of user feedback and we have taken it all into consideration. Will we succeed I dont know but we will give it our best shot.

I think this idea of using a search engine and paying you is a good idea.

I don't think that it is protected by a trademark and I really think that this site would flourish with some amendments and changes to the system.

But the most important would be to get the results directly from Google, because you need an excellent one.

of course. you need a good articles or finding that is exactly what the searcher wants.

I think it is just like a faucet, but search engine is more interesting because it bring benefits to the searchers. beside they can search what they want, they also can earn bitcoin.

Well fact is that you wouldn't really manage to do anything new with that...
You can't copy past the original code because code is a an intellectual production protected by intellectual rights. But you can largely inspire yourself from it without any problem.

The idea is that you win not money but points, with which you make donations to associations.
So giving out satoshis might not be the best because you actually see that you don't earn much...

I don't want to follow this business model, but it seems it's a good idea if the whole structure was implemented, like
Synereo is trying to do with the attention economy.

The problem is, you probably won't ever earn anything really at SearchTrade.  It seems it sets itself up to be used by office sweat shop
pools that just do searches all day long.  They should have a maximum number of searches that can be done per day, a lower payout,
and sell a lot of ads to actually be able to pay anyone.  The problem is, and everyone knows it, an Internet site today has chances of
only lasting two to three years, maybe not even that long.  Will they be around in a year or two to get your $1 in bitcoin for switching your
searches away from the all in one google domain to use google?

I wish the owner well, seems like a nice guy, I just think he should think outside the box a little more.

You can have the same type of website, function and all, as long as you write your own code and you own all the images you use in it.

You can always write your version of this website, preferably with improvement over your inspiration source.
People will tell which is better and which they prefer to use.

So good luck, and have fun in our endevour Smiley

SearchTrade is a website that has a google search which you get paid 20 satoshis ever time you do a search.

Here is something from the Searchtrade site:

Minimum Withdrawal Amount : 0.00100000 BTC.
Withdrawal Fees                    : 0.00036500 BTC.

so they are taking 30% of your searches in order to get paid and looks like you would
be using it about a year or two, at least to reach the payout.

Searchtrade also doesn't have a good BTCtalk track record.  Not much activity in the last
year.

It seems like a good idea, preferably one that might be bought out by someone who can make
it more feasible.  Most people know today that high payouts are a no go in affiliate work, faucets
and so on.  But can this idea be legally copied by someone?  I think the idea was around before it
was converted to BTC.

Trademarks don't protect ideas, but marks/designs etc used in trade.  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trademark
Copyrights don't protect ideas, they protect original works.  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright
Patents protect an inventor etc of an invention.  See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patent

So, perhaps they could have a patent on their specific implementation, but it seems extremely unlikely they could prevent a different implementation.  It is possible to search and see though.
