is there any benefit for a coin to only allow CPU?
You can fine on CPU, but that is not profitable as you get very low coins and even you cannot recover your electric bill.
Strongly agree with you because the electricity bill is very large.For PC costs only if it is used 24 hours continuously for 1 month, it is quite large, what else is it to mine Coin. hmmmmmmmmm
guys ...currently crypto mining with user-friendly CPU type model algorithm as Cryptonight => V7, heavy, origin/V1, LITE, Fast. I think this Algo so many people likes that but is the world for users GPU or CPU.

To be real its kinda hard to mine on CPU and GPU it takes a lot of time and not many people will mine on both, for me I'm just trying to learn and out of curiosity on mining that's why I tried mining on LBRY coin on GPU and it took me a while to get 10 LBRY coins and that's with mining overnight, I have a GEFORCE 1050 Ti and I know this GPU is not really as powerful as the 1080's and for other GPU's but as I learn that GPU mining really takes time and if you are really willing to wait and of course if you have a free electricity you can mine but if you don't just don't waste your time it will cost you more than earning.

I sold my Equip my 5 GPU Rigs and some from the 1 Generation KNC Miners long long time ago! I just had some Bitcoins left on my wallet so I tho to get into CPU Mine but as I see it still sucks as it was many years ago! There is always a probability that someone going to crack the code and mine with GPU as long others mine with CPU and it happens as I see, just checked Trades and some of people have like over 4 milions of the coins so here you go, they did it succesfully =) no need to time for CPU from my side...

The cryptonote coins (Monero, Aeon, ...) are ok to mine with CPU, although GPU is also allowed. But the GPUs don't have clear benefit over CPU and their consumption is big too.
Just you really need a good CPU.
Another coin I know of is Magi XMG, from what I know GPU is not allowed at all. Just the pricing of XMR is not as good as it would deserve...

I don't know of another such coins.
I mined XMG, but later I found out that mining other coins even with CPU and buying XMG may be less of a waste.
BTW, CPU mining doesn't pay the consumed electricity nowadays, so make sure you know about this. Also at XMG there's a rule I didn't really understand, but somehow if the difficulty rises, the reward becomes lower (iirc!) to discourage people mining too hard
, I guess.Also XMG is a PoW + PoS coin, so the mining is even less "effective".
However, I like that coin too. The team and the community are nice.

Your Best bet is one of the PoS coins like ZEIT or Noblecoin or Evergreencoin
The amount of coins per block matter more than the hardware.
Plus with these you can run it only at night so it does not tie up your CPU/Memory during the day.

They are all dead except Evergreen there is 8 BTC on the Market of total worth =)

Cant find any pools.. The wallet use mining but no ideas where it mines on which account. Do you know commands for console?

You can mine Monero with CPU power, but it will take you a lot of time and you will need many processors.
if you are using cloud like AWS, or google, you can create an elastic to add new CPUs for mining automatically.
