hmmm, total centralised control to the detriment of users, software changed without warning, cult like reverence from fan base.  Is that Apple or Solidcoin?  depends if it's over priced or not.

Bitcoin!
I was called by a person from Apple: App was rejected by Apple because "...it involves intermediate currency..."
I've asked why Apps such as PayPal and Venmo are accepted and he replied that he "does not have time to elaborate"
I then asked if they allow just a console to a remote node (not located on iPhone) and he said that this will also be an App that involves intermediate currency and there for will not be allowed...
Not good.  This is why a closed ecosystem like the Apple app store is not a good idea in the first place...

Why would apple reject bitcoin apps?

They want to process all payments issued by i, because that makes them money. But maybe with a whopping fee of 50% they might approve a BTC app someday.

There is the PayPal app ...

It's all about the game, and how you play it
apple rejects whatever they're in the mood for usually

Bitcoin
flexcoin.com as the client is mobile enabled,  IE:  it has it's own IOS icon,  but it's a webapp of course, not a downloadable app.

As far as I know Apple rejects all bitcoin clients to the app store.

But how about those banking apps? You can do wire transfers or write checks with iPhone too.

As far as I know, most Bitcoin apps have extremely low quality - some are just displaying a webpage. Apple will definitely reject such apps.

Do you mean this https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Bitcoin_Express

I was hunting for something earlier today and stumbled on it.  Not something I would every try - it has an annoying association to a certain company.

Why would apple reject bitcoin apps? Or is it only based on the quality of the apps and not on the subject matter?

Apparently CampBX is working on an app for iPhone/iPad, but I have no idea how are they going to get Apple's approval. Right now, I think there is only MtGox's app for jailbroken devices.

All I've found on Cydia is the mtgox app.  There are a few OSS apps, but apple has declined them all.
