Even penalty pass to these guys they just create new accounts to do it again. Ban is not enough for if youll think about it. Yes as a concern member of this forum we can help by doing a report for these kind of post but as they banned by our Staff. It's so easy to create an account again. I think this is a serious problem occured already on this forum which should be address internally by the core admin such as theymos something that a solution that might busted these guys from creating an account again.

The stupid thing Newbie did might not be reading forum rules and campaign rules so he keeps posting spam like that.
If I were a moderator Grin, I would continue to follow up on accounts like this because this is in my opinion duping.

There's a lot of newbie which are spamming the same, if they will be reported, they should be ban but then it's easy to make an account so eventually they will make a new one again to join the bounty and spam the forum, I am not sure if IP ban would work on this if it's existing.

The question of OP, I thought of the idea to have a feature for thread creators to add conditions relate to user ranks. As a manager, a campaign thread creator can restrict only Member or Full members and above have rights to post in campaign threads.

If this conditional feature can not be done with SMF software, how about the currently developing software, Epochtalk?
A kind of new condition for self-moderated threads. I don't think it will be considered as censorship.

As other said, report the account and it might get nuked. Not sure if this counts as copy/paste spam since he's applying for campaigns.
Nuked its bit to harsh, temp ban already enough to give him a break.

He will be banned in this forum because of that said wrong doing, he even doesn't read any rules and requirement in every campaign he is joining, he should be punish, together with other member who will be doing this in the future. I think we cannot send him a dm since he is a newbie member, I just want to tell him to stop doing that spamming. Or just click the "moderator" below the post and click it.
Same as other people with high ranked who can't read the meaning of "FULL" and "CFNP".

Give him a perma-banned just for this it's too harsh, i also get annoyed that's why i put him to my ignore list. He said by himself he doesn't know anything and have zero knowledge.
aku mau tanya tapi dari 0 banget hehe. yang di maksud dengan JR.Member, Hero Member itu apa ??
As long the spam was based "zero knowledge about the forum" and he not doing spam for :
  • Copy - paste from other resources/websites to raising activity.
  • Spam promotes his link at the different threads.
  • Begging merits
Give him temp ban 7 days already enough, i also will un-ignore him went he already change. Went he got a ban, i believe he will ask to local board the reason of that went he got the reason for temp-ban he could think twice before doing any action again.

I recently saw a Newbie user making a stupid post like the one below, registering on many signature campaigns.
Though it has been explained at a minimum of users, who can register in each signature campaign.

Because of the registration of the newbie user, many people explained that the registration was not for Newbie users in the campaign thread.

And it looks annoying if done repeatedly by Newbie users.
So is there a penalty for such users?

Gray area. I would say it depends on moderator, but you probably shouldn't waste your time reporting these kind of posts.

You can just report his post for low quality or spam, and let moderators handle it.

You should even consider moving your thread to meta as it better suits there.

Copy/paste is an absolutely forbidden action in this forum, I don't know if it will be reviewed for severity, but violators will definitely be banned (permanently or for a limited time). I think reporting them to the administrators is the best way to impose appropriate penalties  Cheesy

It is not possible to plagiarise itself. So, copy/paste means nothing in this case, maybe only can be penalized because of burstposting.

Newbies should not be used as an excuse to make something wrong. In this case, this guy is doing it on purpose many times, obviously a lot of harassment, he should be punished.
I like your way of saying  Wink People should be responsible for what they did, if they make a mistake when they don't know something, which means they didn't study well before starting to do it, it's their fault. Go ahead, guy, you will have a good future if you continue like that  Wink

Those Newbie must be joking, maybe they did not read the instructions well or they are trying their luck or they are in a hurry to make money by the next bull run.. But for any participant who can attach the code to his or her status should be bright enough to know the criterias for getting Involved in signatures, most project (social media) dont even accept newbie, it would be a waste of time for them and they could be banned.

If you feel annoyed with this user, the forum created an "Ignore Button" for some reason.

I also already put him to my "Ignore List" he said he came to the forum with zero knowledge, some users already suggestion a few thread he can read first before doing an activity to the forum. But he keeps repeating the same mistake, because of that i put him on my ignore list.

The shit things went i see him, he posted a repeated message like "Thanks" and "Copy for the message" on local board to raising his activity. I already reported his message multiple times, seem like get a good result on the report. Now he wants to try earning money to the forum but still can't understand "Reading & Understand the Rulest" first. I bit agree with some users for temp ban, he needs to thinking twice before active again because multiple people on the local board already inform him but still repeating the same mistake.

~snip! I believe he deserve at least temp ban.
I mean like that, because this user not only spammed the signature campaign, but I repeatedly found him spamming the local board.
even I always report to moderators but it seems there is still no reaction to that.

~snip~ I'm sure he has an Alt account, which is ranked higher, maybe.
Try searching for his Alt account, friend. here you are like a detective.  Cheesy

I support the forum administrators to punish members who misbehave. This forum is full of topic to guide as well as instructions whenever we do that wrong  Cheesy Newbies should not be used as an excuse to make something wrong. In this case, this guy is doing it on purpose many times, obviously a lot of harassment, he should be punished.

Roll Eyes Definitely there is a penalty, at least it should be a temporary ban, this user needs to understand the rules of this forum. This user appears to be a fool who only wants to make money regardless of the advice of others  Roll Eyes he's really annoying to others, I think we should report it whenever we see such posts. Some people never read the beginner's guide, they should learn how to go from scratch

I have a hunch for this person, Syamhusky, just report it, that's what we can do.
Most likely, what a prank / done deliberately, I'm sure he has an Alt account, which is ranked higher, maybe.

Yeah, this guy looks like a dipshit but I wouldn't say he's spamming, just applying to campaigns that ultimately won't accept him.  If I were the campaign manager, I'd report the application post to the mods so he doesn't get credit in his post count (which I'm sure is important to him).

I've seen crap like this before and it drives me nuts.  I'm not sure why people don't read the campaign rules before applying, but it's very clear that a lot don't.  Maybe they just want to try their luck to see if they'll get accepted in spite of not qualifying.  In any case, don't let this one guy's posts in the campaign threads bother you too much.  He'll figure out that it's not going to work eventually.

Yes, there is. Likely moderators would ban him due to spam on many thread. Just report his post and write a note to visit post history of this users. So when moderators will visit his post history they would take appropriate action. Only moderators can take action, tag isn't appropriate for spam reason. I believe he deserve at least temp ban.
