That was a very well-written and well-reasoned request.

Why does the victim has to act and has to contact the villain who does the malicious voting?

He's not a victim, there was no crime. Several of the Default Trust folks I've seen are more proactive in their ratings on purpose. After the April peak but before the ratings system, we had scammers all over the place. A year ago one of them was even named something like "Baron von Scam" talking about 20% returns in a week's time and people sent him coin. In late 2012, someone started a joke Pirate account (after the pirateat40 ponzi scheme) and still got something like 40 BTC worth of coin. In Summer 2012, a 19 year old Ukranian-American from New Jersey created an account on here pretending to be "Homeless Jackie" and posted pictures of a college girl who stayed over for summer break and slept on his couch and did drugs with him.

Unfortunately, even with such blatant and obvious scam intent, people are still dumb. I'd rather see some of those guys in DefaultTrust go overboard with their ratings and reconsider them later on than sit inactive. That said, I myself won't rate people unless I've done business with or doxxed their scam directly.

PM him. It's possible that if you provide a reasoned explanation of why Dogecoin isn't pre-mined or at least engage him in a civil manner he'll reconsider. I don't find 4chan or SA members usually very civil, however, so I'd be VERY impressed if this trust rating could be removed.

Well, I'll give it a shot.

I removed the rating. I find the way the coin was mined unfair but i guess freemarket...

The rules seem to be published so i guess people can use it at their own risk.

Happy holidays.

See, sometimes people can work out their differences.

This is what I sent him, and what I believe.

Hello --

Wanted to break the ice, since I noticed you left some negative feedback for me due to have created dogecoin. I was hoping it could be removed, but it does not have to be if you believe it is a scam. I hope you can hear me out and I am hoping I can change your mind.

First of all hello, my name is Billy Markus, I'm an avid supporter of cryptocurrency and have been since I found out about it. In no way did I create dogecoin to compete with bitcoin or to make fun of bitcoin. I personally don't believe any altcoin is going to take over bitcoin, and I believe they are completely dependent on bitcoin for any of their value, so I don't believe dogecoin is in any way a threat. I created it because I wanted to make something that would make cryptocurrency appeal to a wider audience.

Dogecoin wasn't premined, and the altcoin scene right now is so bonkers right now -- you can see the circus that is the alternate cryptocurrency forum -- that the coin caught on extremely quickly, grew extremely quickly, and I actually believe is very well distributed. I'm not sure if that matters to you or not, but the coin had no scam intentions. The coin has grown far beyond anything I could have predicted -- in no way did I believe I could 'get rich' by throwing a doge meme on a coin. I do understand that a lot of the new people who have come from places where it is more acceptable to be obnoxious, and I apologize for that. I believe that will calm down, though it remains a bit of a circus right now.

The one way in which I believe altcoins support bitcoin, though, is that they allow newbies to 'dip their toe' in cryptocurrency and become involved in the community. In that way, dogecoin has been very successful. The amount of new people who were never interested in cryptocurrency before and are now into it from mining dogecoin is a very high number. Therefore I believe dogecoin is good for bitcoin in the long run, and I believe that having this dogecoin user listed as a scammer will scare away newbies from cryptocurrency. I think this would be a missed opportunity to get more people into cryptocurrency, which I believe is good for bitcoin in the long run.

I hope you will consider removing the scammer tag from this id. Thank you for hearing me out.

It appears that the user "Chaang Noi (Goat) ช้างน้อย" has left a negative trust score without any actual trades taking place, purely out of malice.

Is there a way to get this cleared up?

I can only see you have one feedback from Goat but your public score shows -6: -1 / +0(0). I don't get it.

The trust system is a joke here. Seems to mean very little. I'd just PM Goat and see if he will remove it.

What you don't get? It works perfectly: "total score: number of negative ratings / number of positive ratings"

I can only see one score. Sometimes people have many ratings and no score.

Total score is not a sum, it's a complex formula that you can find in one (quite recent) thread in Meta
And if the ratings aren't taken into account it's because the people aren't in your trust list

'Fraid not. The trust system isn't moderated, but I stopped trusting Goat ages ago because of his bogus ratings.
