I posted about this last year, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.55424159
The docs on github didn't work on the miners I had, when I contacted Canaan direct they eventually sent me a different doc that I linked in the post above.

I was able to get a bit better efficiency after hours of tinkering, don't remember the exact #s though.

For all of the faults with the 84X model, you could safely run them in 110F temps by backing them down and then overclocking them in the winter.  The 1047 model chews through PSUs, we don't even run their newest firmware because of that reason.
What faults? All of my several dozen 841's have been bulletproof - as in zero failures over the years -  and are exceptionally tweakable. Their only fault is their efficiency is not the best.

I have 2 of the A1041's and 5 of the 1047's, zero PSU failures... Where are you running these to have so many issues?

I still have not figured how to OC it.

Did you notice that on the new firmware low power mode only gives you 25 TH or so?

Is there a firmware version that has low power mode?  I have only seen Performance and Normal.  Canaan really did a disservice to their customers by limiting the available commands.  For all of the faults with the 84X model, you could safely run them in 110F temps by backing them down and then overclocking them in the winter.  The 1047 model chews through PSUs, we don't even run their newest firmware because of that reason.

The header will probably be the same, eg  --avalon10-- but beyond that, no idea. The previous generations all have slight differences in how values are formatted and permissible ranges.

Can't say I've tried futzing around with it but I'll ask Kano if he can get some information from his contacts at Canaan. I will say that you cannot hurt the miners. If a code(s) is wrong or out of range it will just be ignored. Push them too hard and again they largely self-protect themselves by throttling down to safer levels before again trying to push towards what you have set.

Were you able to OC or make the 1047 better in efficiency?

Do you think these will be the same as the old codes used in the old gen miners? Did you try any of that?

Still looking for the codes used. But - I did find Canaan's GitHub repo for the A10's. Appendix 1 in the general API's list gives PSU error codes. Full manual starts here.

All of Canaan's GitHub docs & downloads for all their miners is here.

So from what you just mentioned their speed can be made low or high and they can be made more efficient?

My only issue with the A1047 is efficieny and their PSUs. Their PSUs go bad quite often no matter what temps you run them at.

Would love to play around with that. Let me know if you have any updates!!

In the latest firmware upgrade from April 29th, they have multiple pool configs and also a way to CGminer configuration and more options. However, I am not sure how to play with this feature. Have you done anything with this blank column of cgminer configuration-more options?

Since Canaan finally gave us back the More Options entry field for the A1047, as with all Canaan miners there is ZERO need for 3rd party firmware/software. Now the only problem is finding what the command switches are and their ranges to use with the 1047. So far I have not been able to find that.

Historically the Avalon's have been very easy to tweak anyway you desire be it for temp control, speed, power efficiency, etc. Command switches for the A6xx-A9xx series can be found on Canaan's Github repository

Hi Folks,

Is there a way to run the A1047 efficiently? Wondering if there are any improvement softwares like Braiins or Vnish for these?
