ICO? Not even once.
It's better IMO to set a custom fan curve as opposed to messing with trying to throttle the card.

If you're getting to 80C on an Aorus, you either have your fans set WAY too low, or you have very poor cooling to it.

Poor cooling for sure but it's summer and I don't have access to electricity to counteract all the heat that is generated.

It was so easy to just set a limit like 72°C and the card worked around that between like 1.4 Ghz and 2 Ghz.

The max temp on that GPU is 94c, you are not even close to overheating it.

I've read it's 84°C.

But yeah, call me conservative but I'm not going to run cards over 72°C 0-24h. The reported core temp is one thing but VRM and RAM temps are not reported and they can be much much higher. And I have a reputation of selling cards in great condition and none of what I sold over the years had died out of several dozen.

I'd rather replace the BIOS if I could disable GPU boost 3.0 or set a manual temp target otherwise.

GPU Boost 3.0 cards ignore manual temperature limits in tools like MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision.

You can set the temps to let's say 65°C but as long as the power is not limited the card will heat up to as much as 80+°C (card in question is AORUS 1080 Ti).

Is there any tool that enforces a custom temperature limit and throttles the card based on that for windows?
