What about news aggregators? https://cryptopanic.com

Will get a more specific news summary if you use the search field.
This is a great news aggregator. I've used it before, but now I mostly use Twitter for the latest news. Twitter is an information-exploding social media. For example, the FTT incident made me unclear who was telling the real news. This is a headache. Many opinion leaders and industry leaders speak too ficklely, and the entire market sentiment and prices also fluctuate accordingly. So, no matter what, you have to judge for yourself.

First off: FTX didn't get hacked. The CEO just went full degenerate and took too much unnecessary risk for such a striving company.
Seems there was now a hack as well or an inside job to steal crypto worth $600 million. FTX Faces Potential Hack, Sees Mysterious Outflows Totaling More than $600M. The official FTX account has warned users not to visit the site either as they might catch a Trojan if they do that > https://t.me/FTX_Official/696038.
Funds are being reported as missing both from the .com as well as the .us domain.

Just when you think things can't get any worse, they do.

Depending on the topic you're looking for, you better find specific website or newsletter. For example, i use https://bitcoinops.org/ for Bitcoin technical news/information.

I checked that website and IMO it's not really helpful for OP. By default, it has option "Top News" and "Show All" where 10 top news was posted in last hour. I'd recommend https://defidive.com/news instead which have better categorization (media news, twitter and youtube) and filter that is easier to use/understand.

Care to expound? Knowing that controversial personalities have been unbanned, I'd say that's good for freedom of speech.

I don't think that some controversial people should be allowed to gain access to this social network after everything they presented there, and I'm really curious if Trump's account will be unblocked so that he can prepare a new coup when he loses the next presidential election. I don't want to go off-topic, but here you can read a little more about what some people think will happen with Twitter - in addition to the fact that for now 1+ million user profiles have been deleted or have left the platform, which speaks for itself.

I have deactivated mine and I am waiting for it to be completely deleted, because what the new owner is doing has nothing to do with freedom of speech or any kind of democracy, but with the very strange ideas of a man who, from the very first day, started using his new toy for political purposes. I think that people should react and find alternatives (and they exist), and I hear that people mention Mastodon a lot as an alternative.

As for Mastodon, I've tried it like last year. Seems good to me, but good luck getting the masses to use it.

Are places like Twitter good for this? I've seen it be used and is quite useful for cyber vulnerabilities where people post threads with 15+ tweets that are concise enough to cover most things.

Encrypted information can be obtained from some encrypted news sites and social media, such as twitter, which I think is the most reliable platform for obtaining information. Follow the more reputable ones, they always post the latest news and their opinions.

Using social media can be the best choice teal time nformation. Because from social media we are often get the fastest information to report than media.
Not all social media platforms are good or reliable source of information and you shouldn't blindly believe everything you read there. Take Facebook as example, it's full of misinformation (share either intentionally or unintentionally) and fake profiles and all Mark's efforts to fight fake news don't seem to be working.
Twitter is the best among them if you want to stay updated with the latest news. You just need to follow the right persons.

I've been thinking this about the ftx hack fund issues and have been wondering if there's a good place a lot of people use to get accurate and quick information about breaking news and information that comes quickly? Are places like Twitter good for this?

Genuine information can be gotten from any platform and likewise we have sone platforms as well that were known for posting irrelevant updates that are often regarded as fake news, but twitter is one of the best platform where you can get a reliable information from, now the main concern is about who do you follow on twitter? Who is your information source, you must follow people or pages that have an international reputation and standard that all information given through them were always accurate and upto date and not to follow the media influencers that were after fake broadcast.

In my opinion Twitter is still the best place for this.

Not sure if there's already discussions on things like this but I constantly find I'm left with unanswered questions when reading crypto related media, often news articles (and some of my questions never get answered).

You are looking for answers in the wrong place, because if you look at who the authors of those articles are, some things may become clearer to you. The purpose of most of these articles is to attract as many clicks as possible, and not to provide answers to some complex questions.

hmph..

Good sentence "Until the dusk settles". Of the many media, Twitter has indeed become the first social media to provide information about any rumors and this is discussed by many people who are already trusted. However, the loophole regarding manipulative news will indeed remain, but it will still be inferior to the real news that occurs.
I don't even really believe in the news that is broadcast by the big media because they tend to be manipulative and controlled by someone who has big interests. Twitter is a good place to research and find accurate news Until the dusk settles.
And maybe something more specific can be found on Reddit.

Using social media can be the best choice teal time nformation. Because from social media we are often get the fastest information to report than media. For example, CZ announced selling FTT from his Twitter, his followers would follow his lead and there was a dump on FTT then highlighted by the media and reported as news. So it's not wrong to find the fastest information from social media as long as the account is a credible informant. Because if they are wrong, it is very possible for him to get the wrong information too.

In my opinion Twitter is still the best place for this. Of course you can't know with 100% certainty until the dusk settles, but news and rumours mostly break out on Twitter first, and that there are reputable people there where you can put a lot of trust(not like 100% trust, but with low likeliness of false information) on the information they provide.

Since you read cryptocurrency news sites, always look up their writers on twitter and follow them. Especially the bitcoin magazine, Forbes, and coindesk writers. They have a strong control of cryptocurrency news even before it appear on blogs. Sometimes they tweet to get responses before writing about the topic. On the other hand, a lot of cryptocurrency projects are active on twitter, so announcements appear on twitter first and the writers can retweet the announcement for awareness. They can tweet about the trend if need arises before writing about it. Therefore, twitter is like a place to get the raw information from the horse's mouth.

Before my issues with not finding the full answers on what happened with ftx, I had a similar problem with taproot where I had to look up how it functioned multiple times before it finally clicked (and that was a case of it making sense how it worked by the sites I found but then they didn't have any examples of it and left it being explained in an abstract way - has anyone found a solution to this or do we just have to wait on it or become the solution)?
