Today I'm very pleased to be announce we offer bitcoin mining hosting here in Iceland through Moria Datacenter We're currently in the process of building the DC in Keflavik and aim to be fully online by the end of August. This is a full 8MW DC built for the express purpose of hosting bitcoin mining. We offer natural but filtered air cooling, fire suppression system and 24/7 on site security. Please feel free to PM me for any additional questions you may have.

I'm not familiar with hosting deals but 79 Euro per month per KW doesn't seem particularly cheap.

Electricity is pretty cheap but still costs, you'll be more stymied by the importation of the hw itself since we have high VAT and import tariffs + shipping. Datacentre's here get the best deal on bulk electricity prices.

If you are sending your miner for collocation, there shouldnt be an import tax levied, since the hardware doesnt change owner. In reality in most countries this is quite a battle, and you may get charged import taxes even on RMA items, that you have to claim back,  but with the right paper work (read: get a specialist lawyer), it can be avoided. Its one of the things Im looking in to.

It seems like this would be the best place to host a mining co-op.  It is my understanding that the geothermal energy is either cheap or free for citizens there and the temperature would be ideal for devices that generate a lot of heat.

Curious if there are any Icelanders on this board that are involved in a mining company.  I've been mining alt-coins on a small scale the past few months, but I think instead of investing in more mining equipment, I would like to throw some coins at a legit operation in the near future.

Any Icelanders here?  If so, will you marry me?  I want citizenship. Cheesy

I believe there is, but most Icelanders would be mining themselves since its so profitable.

You're not the first to come up with this idea. There was an Icelander at the London Bitcoin conference who is setting up shop with a geothermic energy mining rig.
