They're not gifs and gifs are already disabled. Somebody has worked out how to create animated PNGs to get around it:
Maybe theymos should try disable them or add an option where users can turn them off themselves manually if people are finding them annoying.

Hmm thank you for your reply, thing is that I hear for the first time that you can make animated images with png, always thought that this was able only with gifs. Out of my lack of knowledge seems to come bad conclusion on this matter. According to wikipedia release of this thing was way back in 2008
and this type of format is called APNG which means that it can be blocked. Anyway I am not sure about forum rules might search for browser extension that does the trick or even write one myself if I find it to be easy.Thanks again for your answer I really appreciate that!
