The problem I found with these is as soon as you get one and start using it they provider has problems with their intermediary banks and then it no longer works. I paid 20 USD for a Wirex a year ago - it worked for a few weeks and then stopped. Now they want me to go through the whole BS process again to get another card.

Wirex does come with a virtual card If I remember correctly. They even have a demo here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIWJKtYbguM

This also sort of implies that they're over the Wavecrest issue:

https://wirexapp.com/wirex-payment-cards-back/

While indeed Wirex is past Wavecrest issues, while Wirex is clearly back in business, they no longer offer virtual debit cards.
It's quite fresh news, I've got e-mail about this some 10 days ago (Sep 21-22).
The existing wirex virtual cards will become unavailable in 21 October.

Have you tried Wirexapp? I believe they solved their issue. Alternatively, you could check this list out: http://www.bestbitcoincard.com/virtual/

The list on the website is old. It shows advcash as working, while it doesn't for quite some time. The google doc from a later post is closer to reality.

what do you guys think of debit cards which convert bitcoin into fiat first before transaction?

I personally think they're quite useful because they provide an alternate way to spend your coins. I can see why they can rub some people the wrong way though.

doesn't it defeat the whole purpose of having a crypto debit card?

Crypto itself kind of defeats the whole purpose of having any debit card. If everything goes well, they'll be obsolete in the future.

Thank for your reply.
I checked the whole list and no one seems to deliver virtual card.
I checked wirexapp but they don't even show the virtual card product on their website. I guess they got the same wave crest problem.

Hello,

I'm looking for a bitcoin virtual card provider.
I saw Uquid, advcash and spectrocoin, they all advertise virtual cards on their website but they can't actually deliver one since the wave crest thing a few months ago.

Is there any service running right now ? Bitcoin or altcoins, KYC or not, doesn't matter.

Thank you for your help

Spectrocoin is, if I am correct, not using anymore Wave Crest as issuer since some time.

The SpectroCoin Prepaid Card Program is facilitated by CreditCard Solutions UK Ltd (www.ccsprepay.com) CreditCard Solutions UK Ltd (CCS Prepay) is registered in England & Wales Company |

So create an account and verify if you can so something

Live chat says virtual card are not available and they don't know when they'll be.
It's been like that for a month.
