... so that I could PM them if they are online ...

No worries if they are offline. Just hit them a PM whenever you want as long as the concern does make sense.

Surely and obviously, the next time they logged, they will able to read your message and might gives you a response.

Does the forum has the function tonadd friends and put it in a list so that I could PM them if they are online or if I have something to ask from.them? What I did now is to.search their name.manually in the search bar.
even if you search their names or check their profiles, you can't tell for sure their online status
you can see a light green colored status indicator only on user that allows others to see his online status
I think the default setting is off/unchecked on this "Show others your online status?"

Online or offline if you need help from certain members of the forum a simple pm could help you get some answers to questions you might have but others might not like this, I suggest bringing problems or questions to the public if they are not sensitive issue's.

I would like to advice you to search more of good post rather than searching for some few members in a forum that's filled with users. Having a few role model or admiring them is good but going to the point of knowing when they are online for you to pm them it might just be to much.

As others stated above you can't directly follow people around here. I'd take CryptopreneurBrainboss suggestion and bookmark desired profiles or simply a link to their latest posts:

In regards to who is online/offline, the following link might help you:

When I joined the forum I missed some feature like that. I wish I could "follow" some users which I believe were involved in good discussions, so I could easily keep update with the forum discussions.

However this is not a common social media website, and there are other ways to keep yourself updated with the best forum discussions and threads. You can use the Watchlist feature and "watch" (which would be the same as follow) the board you want.

In a few months you will discover which are the best boards here for you, where you can make good contributions and read interesting stuff.

No the forum don't have such options although you can bookmark their profile or posts on your desktop or mobile to be easily accessible when you need them or you can merit their quality contributions so when you're searching for such users all you have to do is scroll through your sent some history to find their profile.

There is no such option to add someone as friend in bitcointalk. But you can save their username on a text document and search for their posts time to time to get their posts.

You can use Bpip.org which contains search option will be much easier to search username than on bitcointalk and also have some reports which you may like to see.

I am starting to like some users that has posted quality replies and always looking after the post so that I could learn more on cryprocurrency. My problem is that I could.not see a way that I can reach through them in a list and also if they are online not.
