I have been trading for a month or so, but I have still not completely understood the fee structure.
Can you place and cancel a trade as many times as you like on Poloniex and Bittrex without paying any fees? The only time you pay a fee is when you actually sell something? Is that correct?
Yes you can. Both exchanges charge  some fee but in a different way.  Poloniex, I think charges only when you are Withdrawing your coin while Bittrex charges when you buy some coin.
The poloniex and bittrex charge every activity that has included in your daily trades. Up to 0.02%, the fees that you must pay after your order gets executed by the market or other people. Bittrex and polo will charge your withdrawal, Buy and Sell orders.

As far as I know yes, that is how they do it, at least in Poloniex. You also pay fees when you withdraw your coins or use the lend feature.

From what I know is that, when you do a buyer making a sale or cryptocurrency in any place that will not require you to pay the administrative costs of trading. But if from the making of the seller and purchase managed to do then you have a dependent administration cost from activity by cutting the number of tokens you get. So, this is not the main issue for you and the main thing you must do is set each strategy to be able to get the victory.

Yes there is fees for putting trade on exchanges every time a buy and sell is executed or it will be successful you need to pay for the fees. The percentage though is depend on the exchange you are using.

To add to what other said, you can trade with less fees when you create your own trade price (or by being what is called a "Maker"). For example BTC is trading at the following rates: Buy: 2500 - Sell: 2498. If you create a trade and you are the first to buy or sell at the 2499 trade price, you are a maker of that trade price and are usually charged a lower fee. In poloniex its (.10% less of the normal .25% fee).

This bonus is not on bittrex though?

Sure, when you cancel a trade before it complete you will not need paying any fees, just when this trade buy/sell complete you will spent small fee to exchange site. In poloniex, when you create a bid/ask and waiting someone buy/sell that, you just spent 0.15% fee/order, if you buy/sell to a bid/ask from order available you will spent 0.25%/order

Yes you can place and cancel your buy order as many times as you can and you don't have to pay a fee but if your buy order is successful then you have to pay for the fee depend on how much is the fee rate on the of exchange.

Exchanges are asking some fees from us only when they are matching buyer and seller.
If you create an order and you cancel it then it is not meeting the criteria of charging fee as per the basics of an exchange. So, there is no practice of charging fees until orders get fulfilled.

Yes you can set a buy order nor sell order there is no fee .Try to observe how much btc only you use to bid then cancel it it is the simplest way for you to see if theres a fee or none .
If you already bought or sold there was a fee there if your amount is low you will recognize it but if you have something much bigger you will just ignore it.

Yes that's correct and that's how the trading sites work. When you buy and sell orders on trading sites and as long as they are not sold or bought then you can still cancel the orders without paying any fees.

You open order sell or buy on the poloniex and bittrex many times without pay the fees trading if your order doesn't taken, but if your order be succesfull buy and sell, you must pay the fees transaction trading, so actually we can not trade without pay the fees transaction trading. The markets will be closed if they don't take any fees from transaction trading.

Actually, everytime you make a transaction you always put fees to the exchange or even if you convert your money into fiat. If you buy coins, if you sell coins, make an exchange, put money into your account thru depositing in bank or any top up center. This is how exchanges get money if you do not mind even in small or high fee there is always fee. Things will not work if you  do not put money into it, that is how it works now in the world.

As far as i know you pay a fee for every transaction you make. That's how these exchanges profit. Buy, sell, withdraw, deposit, all these would have to be paid for and it seems that as it goes on and as bitcoin price rises, these fees become quite a bit more expensive.

This is more of trading discussion rather than bitcoin discussion but since an answer has been provided then there is no need and in addition to that, it is only executed order whether buying or selling that you are charged for and some other exchange sites charge if you want to make withdrawal.

Yes. Basically that's how they work.

You only pay the fees when you successfully execute an order. So you can create and remove as much orders as you want when you want.
