my system is already 7 years old and I was wondering if you maybe know which alternatives i possibly have - to keep things short >
PC-Spec.:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
GPU: AMD 7950 / R200
MB: ASUS Crosshair IV Formula
RAM: 8 GB Kingston HyperX, DDR3-1600
SSD: 2 TB, 500 GB, 500 GB
It's pretty clear that i am far too late to even think about mining btc/eth but maybe another crypto to think about ?

You can simply exchange the useful working parts with new ones and be paying some extra fee. You will get the advanced parts cheaper, and you can turn your PC into a miner or into anything you like!
How about that idea? Otherwise, if you don't wanna use it for mining or for playing 'tough' games, you can just keep it and use it for usual staff, like Facebook, email, bitcointalk, reddit, microsoft office, etc.
