Put all your bitcoin in a single address.

Sign a document with your name, SS, address, whatever with the private key of that address.

Now you've proven you own that address and thus those bitcoins.

That only works if they understand the proof. If they don't know anything about cryptography they will reject it outright.

I suppose that might be worth a try.  But then I'd have to explain what bitcoin is and how to determine its market value.  Sending an officer on a research project doesn't strike me as the best way to put them in good humor.

sell bitcoins, get a statement of bank account then buy them back again? ;-)
Possible, but I'd lose out on commissions and fees.

would be similiar to shares
It's not for a loan, per se.

In Germany, we have guys called "Wirtschaftsprüfer" (auditors), who will do such a thing. They are, for example, hired when you start a capital company/corporation, and the values you invest are not cash, but buildings, equipment, etc.
I guess they could do the same for bitcoins. If they would, that's another question. They tend to be pretty conservative.

I suppose this is a situation where you have to think of the right questions to ask first. For example what are some exotic assets and how are they valued? Maybe works of art or rare stamps. How do the owners of these assets apply for a loan?

Searching for "loan collateral rare stamps" tells me that pawn brokers provide loans for them. For fine art some banks will take them as collateral.

Of course if it is not a loan that you are looking for then it is a different matter.

Sorry, I'll try to be a little more careful in my phrasing, I guess.  But that's not going to solve my problem.

Your net-worth is $10,000... wait...  $7,500.. nope, $13,000.  Welp, it seems your net-worth was stolen by a Chinese relics dealer.

People need to start to get to know: some "trusted" authority saying something means less and less these days, what with the whole foundation of our lives (the financial system) being so infested with dishonest overseers at the highest level. Trust in this nonsense really needs taking down a peg or two more, I'm hoping the coming winter should see the fidelity capital sliding further into the abyss.

marked to market or marked to book?...us housing and bbank balance sheets are s till debating real net worth values right now..the best to do would leave a 20 pecent leeway in case of value drop on net equity in btc aassets

in case of a loan it would go to a trust as collateral similar to escrow...or set up your own trust so the trust can hold and verify for others

I'm currently engaged in a couple of different endeavours, for both of which I need to demonstrate my financial standing.

I haven't been working for a little while, but I do have some net worth in bitcoin.  I'm wondering where I can get a written statement to that effect.  I do know that I can prove I own an address through signing, but I doubt that will be good enough for the bureaucrats.  Is there any way I can prove it to a third party, and have them provide documentation to that effect?
