It's true this member might not repeat his mistake anymore and you can still forgive someone for their second offense, but it looks unfair for old member who get banned because of one old plagiarized post.

That depends on moderators! If they feel like they were much stricter back in the old days, and now they want to give chances for the first or 2nd offense, I do not see anything wrong here. The old members who were banned for their first offense should adjust themself and take it with a light heart. If they feel, "I was banned, now they should be banned too," there is no double standard.

I want to say that rules change over time. Sometimes, the same rules apply in different ways. So, old members should let the moderators decide what they should do. All you need is just report and let them do what they want.

As I said, I found another plagiarism post which I have reported here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.62928666
This time, I did not report the post using the report to moderator button. Let's see if any mod takes action, or they may want to give him another chance.

Leaving a post in a reference topic is just a way of explanation why a report is sent. So tapping Report to moderator button is needed if you expect a moderator to pay attention to a case you found. He can give another chance or not, but a report is needed anyway.

I feel like this established member did this at the beginning of their forum journey. No? Did they do it when they were already established? It seems all seven posts were reported at once. Did this member repeat the same practice again after the report? I guess not, which is why he is still free. If mods give a chance for the first or 2nd offense, I won't complain about it.
Nope, it's when he was a Senior member rank, I don't believe if Senior member rank still not aware about the forum rules.

All the seven posts weren't reported at once, it's two times because the reporter update his post three days later, IIRC first he report 5 posts and then add 2 more posts.

Well, will wait for next violations from Aliagha790. Usually such users or lose their interest in posting on the forum at all or continue violating. So it could probably take several times of reporting plagiarism and other violations. Okay, we'll wait and do so.

Look at this case, a Hero rank user plagiarized 7 posts and until now he's free from temporary or permanent ban. Nowadays the moderator become more friendly with plagiarism cases, but you don't have to try it. Tongue

How many chances they may get from mods?
How many chances? a lot!

It's not mean the low rank member will less likely get banned and high rank member will high likely get banned when they get caught plagiarism.

Yes, I've reported him for plagiarism for two other cases.

Both posts were deleted, but the user wasn't banned yet. BPIP did not show anything yet. So, this user's current status is he is still free to post. I have found another plagiarism of this user. This time, this guy copied and pasted a story from Bitcoinmagazine.com. The mods seem to give these users chances who have not contributed anything to the forum yet.

But we have seen somewhat established users who were banned for a single plagiarism case. Some members were temporarily banned for simple copy lines. How many chances they may get from mods?

These posts were removed. According to the Bpip.org, the user is still free. So, either mods gave him another chance or he deleted the post himself.

Modlog shows that posts with plagiarism were deleted by mods. So yes, he's got another chance but I don't think he'll get benefits from it.

If he keeps this up, he might end up with a temporary ban or even a permanent one.

He deserves a permanent ban there are just too many violations, merit begging, plagiarism, using AI, and the worst of all soliciting money without proving where the money will go, whoever led him here did not guide him or he just missed or intentionally ignore the sections where newbie needs to start if he only has one violation we could excuse him and advice him to check the forum rules.
If he can still log in and read this thread let's see how he will defend or address these accusations.

From one-line posts to a wall of texts that still make no sense because they're too tiring to read, This is probably another user who read, was told, or somehow found out about the money-making opportunities through the forum, signature, and bounty campaigns but was faced with the challenge of earning merit. Somehow he thinks that he's smart and everyone else is a fool; otherwise, he wouldn't believe that he could possibly earn merit through plagiarism and AI content. This is another example of the successful implementation of the merit system; otherwise, this user would simply rank up through activity in a few months and start applying to bounty and signature campaigns, which I doubt the latter would accept.

This user is a plagiarist also, so permanent ban is what the most expected, I guess. Merit begging is a kind of begging also and it is prohibited by rules as well, so insistent begging from a newbie could probably lead to a ban also. But usually such violator has many violations and it just takes time to find for which exactley they will be banned.

And look what I found, he did plagiarism. I think it's not more tagging that he deserves, but a ban without warning.

Yes, I've reported him for plagiarism for two other cases.

I see different content than the screenshot. @DVlog Add the username or the link to that account, in the future or in similar cases, and when you are talking about individual behavior and not a general description of a problem, adding the username is necessary.

Overall, he seems to be begging for merits. If this is true, PM him to stop this will be sufficient, and if he keep his activity, a neutral or negative trust will be necessary. PM me and let's see what will happen.
Someone must have reported it.

Sorry about that. I have added his profile link to the OP and will do the same next time if I see anything link this.

It looks like all of his topics have been removed by the moderator. But if you look at the archive, you will see most of the posts have been removed as of September 30. He made 6 new posts today and they have been removed as well. Here is the link: https://loyce.club/archive/members/357/3573102.html

Yes. I reported a bunch of his posts to the moderators (and I am guessing some other members did too), and quite a few of them have already been deleted.

You mean this user? https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/aliagha790-3573102
He just had an excessive desire to promote himself to a higher rank. I noticed a drastic change in writing style, my assumption is he started using bot writing tools.
His last topic detected was more than 60% generated by AI based on the scores of 3 different detector tools.

In the past few days i have noticed unusual things like this user in the screenshot. New users come to the forum and start creating new topics right after a few days. Just look how many topics this user created in a single day and he even begged for merit in one of his topic. Is there someone who spreads misinformation about any giveaway in the forum for creating new topic!(This isn't a serious question)   Roll Eyes

I know they are newbie and we can not expect anything super helpful from them, but they should at least read the forum rules first.
