Bitcoin is GOD
If we are going to look at BTC past history and it's correlation to the whole crypto bull run, then yes everyone is based on the price of Bitcoin, 99% of the altcoin that is. And so I don't think that the hashtag is true, it might be that they want to start something new, but we all know that it's not going to happen. We are in the bear market, as you have said, -70++% from bitcoin alone, show that we are in a bearish trend. And I would advise the OP to not trust anyone, specially about this so called crypto influencers because they have their own narrative behind.
I think the people behind such a hashtag may have tried to create bullish sentiment for altcoins and pump them this way, I think that maybe they were expecting that something similar to what we see with meme coins could happen for the whole altcoin market.

However when the market is not really presenting signs of investors being interested in this and we add the difficult economic circumstances in which we are in then there is almost no chance that such kind of manipulation could succeed.

It looks like someone is trying to push the altcoin market. For now the market haven't taken a big move with the altcoins. The market dominance of bitcoin stays strong and rest of the altcoins are following the market movement of bitcoin. At times there is small variation with bitcoin going red and altcoins on the green signal. This is not the indication for altcoin season.

Unlike the market and the altcoinseason it is good to invest on the top altcoins of the market. Those altcoins have got proven track record reaching big when the market is bullish.

Whenever we see a rise in bitcoin price, the debate started hag tag altseason(#Altcoinseason) on social media specially on tweeter.  Last year when bitcoin grip its support on 28000 we have seen the rise in bitcoin price and atltcoins too. so, the debate started hash tag atcoinseason on social media, and when bitcoin reached 69000 we have a massive decline in its price also in altcoins.

On a some websites (www.digitalsurge.com) there is written. when, we see decline in bitcoin marketcap, and rise in altcoin marketcap. So, we can say altcoin season is started.

Is it right to say that altseason depends on bitcoin ?

In Near future we will see the same hash tag debate on social media when we see rise in bitcoin price.
In my opinion hash tag altcoin is just a Myth.

(The senior can batter explain this.)

why do you have that weird paragraph spacing thingy?

Well there is a time when all coin go up because of bull market, any thing will pump, coin x have a big conf=pump, coin z have a rebrand=pump. Any thing that have a narrative will also pump in a bull market, because people have this money from profit with bitcoin or other big L1 and the money somehow just rotate to different coin

Is it right to say that altseason depends on bitcoin ?
Yes. Bitcoin always rises first, launching a new bullish season, so altcoins follow its trend and have their prices pumped as well. But inevitably without bitcoin there aren't altcoins and without a strong and valuable bitcoin there aren't promising altcoins. Bitcoin is called the king of crypto universe for a reason and it shouldn't be neglected. If you are willing to invest in cryptocurrencies never underestimate the potential of bitcoin in exchange of some cheap altcoins. In conclusion there isn't something like 'altseason'. The market becomes optimistic as a whole and mainly due to bitcoin. I think it should be just called 'bull season'.

I agree with your statement, there is no so called altseation, when bitcoin goes up, everything goes up, I have never seen bitcoin fall, but I have seen the altcoin market turn green. Cryptocurrency is a market unlike others, every market movement depends on the trend of bitcoin. By analyzing the trend of bitcoin, we are able to predict the trend of the rest of the altcoins based on that trend. Sometimes there are some alts that go against the btc trend when it is pumped by some event, news highlights, but that happens only individually and is quickly extinguished and back to the trend of bitcoin later there.

Altcoin seasons do depend on bitcoin, most of the time the process is as follows, bitcoin enters a bullish period, most likely due to the halving, and then we see an increase in its price, eventually speculators despite the growth of bitcoin are unhappy about their profits and begin to look for alternatives, this pushes the price of altcoins up and the community changes their target from bitcoin to altcoins, which results in an altcoin season.

As you can see an altcoin season depends on bitcoin experimenting a bullish movement first, and until this happens the chances of an altcoin season happening are not high.

I am in the crypto space since a few years now and i have witnessed the bullrun of 2017 and the last one of 2020 to 2021. Usually Bitcoin is the first project that has noticeable gains when a bullrun is starting. Even though we have so many crypto projects now Bitcoin is still the big indicator for the whole industry.
Once Bitcoin has been rising a certain amount of time like a few weeks or so, then usually the bigger altcoins also begin to raise in price noticeably which means the bitcoin domination goes a bit down again. Again a little later when we are really in a full bull market even the small altcoins are rising in some cases even absolute shitcoins.
When this is starting then it is time to prepare for the next bear market again.

Definitely, when people say that we are about to enter in the altcoin season, it only means that they have seen the indicator.

And, that indicator means that it is with bitcoin going in all time highs.

That is the sign where we are looking for to say that we are about to enter altcoin season.
Hashtags were not an indicator that it is happening, maybe there are only groups that are creating hype for that coin but that doesn't mean that it will be bought by many. We can see what project it is and what news related to it that it makes hype for us to check. But at this time altcoins will not get the spotlight unless BTC pump again. It's not like in ICO days that altcoins have the power to get popular as many doubt altcoins now due to their previous issues.
If you have read and understood what I've read. It's about the actual indicator that makes them put those hash tags.

The sign that I've mentioned when they're talking about that, is all about the bullishness of bitcoin and it going to all time highs.

Everyone would really tell what they feel when they're looking at the market like that. It's the sign that we're all waiting for and those that have been showy would tweet and post with that hashtag.

I think it's true, all altcoins need a bitcoin boost, even though sometimes bitcoin keeps going up altcoins are still in the same place,
bitcoin is the mother of all coins and increases and decreases in value will affect altcoins

and the hashtag problem I think is only for yoforia when alt has a price increase

Only dumb people who are only believing in the hashtag without even trying to did their own research. Hashtag sometimes being used for the shilling purpose while everything actually depends with bitcoin. It cna't be argued if altcoin can decouple from bitcoin caused by it was always following bitcoin. It will be going up if there will be a pump. Im sure that people aware about this too. that's better to ignore any hashtag and see how market is going on based from CMC

For years that I'm into this market, I can say that altcoins really depends on the trend of Bitcoin.
Have you seen the recent update with ETH? that was a good update right and yet the price dump why? because Bitcoin is down and altcoins can't pump that much as long as Bitcoin is down. We can take this as our guide every time we buy altcoins, though of course this a case to case basis and you still need to consider other indicators it doesn't meant that Bitcoin pumps, all altcoins will pump too, you should still need to choose the best one.

I think during the bull run 2017-2018 when started that hash tag or trend. I think that is only a niche where very bull run there is a new trend, just like recently where we saw Decentralized Finance (DeFi) or Non Fungible Tokens (NFT).
As I remember last 2017-2018 where ICO fever happened, any altcoins which got ICO they are just flying even how shitcoins they are, there are lot of people lost money during that time.

I can't remember how many altcoins were listed on CMC and Coingecko, but I believe it's only around 1000-2000 only. But currently we're have around 20K altcoins which is 10 times higher than 5 years ago. Actually Bitcoin marketcap and dominance aren't decreased, but the reason behind this is there's many altcoins there and that's make Bitcoin marketcap and dominance are smaller.

I don't see any chance altcoin season might comeback since everyone already know altcoins are mostly pump and dump scheme, not for long term.

It's a myth. It's not like this time of the year we can go back to how the market behaved a decade ago where when Bitcoin drops, the altcoins will rise.
I don't think we can go back to that kind of market. I have altcoins and I want to see them grow but I do believe it's all up to Bitcoin first. It's a sign that many investors are flocking and they would also purchase altcoins if ever they feel like it.
Right now, buying cheap coins that look to have a good future ahead is the only option.

Big altcoins in top 20 ranks don't need BTC dominance that much unlike those micro cap altcoins, once BTC starts appreciating in value top altcoins will do the same, this is why it's better to build your crypto bags with a few top altcoins instead of those micro cap that many refer to as hidden gem all in the name of making insane gains.

Yes, and it proven once more that altcoin rides on bitcoin movement. But there are times that we can see bitcoin dominance go down and started to shift to altcoins that means many people are keep buying altcoins instead of bitcoin. But that is not the only factor since we can also rely on other parameters especially on fundamental aspect of tokens or major projects that keep building and innovating.
