It requires a collaboration of the "watch only" app with the exchange wallets so in other words you must have a wallet in that exchange and use their service to triggered the alerts. There is no way the "watch only app" will have an access to the internal stuff of the exchange wallet without a linked to the wallet itself.

It looks like none of the posters in this thread other than the one above me has ever used blockchain.info to import addresses as "watch only" and still get a SMS whenever they receive funds to their imported addresses.
They do this and it's actually very cheap price for them as they get a contract and buy sms in bulk maybe 10K only for $10 bucks and they earn it back 100 folds by showing banners of different services in their pages.

I myself use blockchain.info and get sms when I receive and send bitcoin. I hear my friend, who use coinbase wallet, also get sms like I get. so you can choose one of those wallets.

CONNECT which is a new app recently and one of the functions that it can remind you when you get a new message. Same, if you receive a transfer, it will remind you by pop out a message on your phone. Only you do is to enable the notification.

Maybe there is but well i don't know actually what is it. Why some provide such service even it is not profitable? maybe it is not profitable but at least it will help to the users know if they already received or send the bitcoin in the specific address. And more specially in making some transactions, they will immediately know if they already done their transactions.

Yes it is possible. Tho it depends on the owner of the web wallets if they are going to include it on their code. If they will add any messaging api then all of their user can received sms notification with regards to any transactions that you were doing

I am from the Philippines and most of us here who are into Bitcoin is utilizing the services of coins.ph. They usually send an email if a client is sending and receiving money and we can use our smartphone to notify us when there is an email messages in Gmail. However, I don't think they provide an SMS service for this purpose (I could be wrong though because I have not fully peruse all of their available services). I think it is the same thing with CoinPayments which is my other wallet provider.

Yeah I get instant update for my wallet whenever I receive or send Bitcoins. Also they don't charge any fees for this.

However I think OP is searching for a SMS notification service not tied with wallet service ATM.

Simple answer: You can just scan your bitcoin address in your blockchain.info which will than be watch only address, no need to put your private key there. They will also send this notifications for watch only address, i have tried it myself (but i get emails not sms).

I guess there is no such that service so far. I guess, email does every transaction you made you can have some alert or messages that will pop up. Maybe this type of service develop in near future.

You don't seem to list what online wallet you're going to use but you do say the wallet is going to be for you so I'd be guessing you just want to know when you receive which is something that BitGo does allow you to have setup. Whenever I get any funds to my BitGo account, I get an email notification that comes up on my phone informing me on the amount of money that I go to my wallet.

I don't really think it's needed to know when Bitcoins are sent if it's something that is being done through your own wallet as you're going to be the one using it and knowing when you send it should be wildly simply on WHEN YOU SEND IT (unless you're hacked of course) So, if you're going to setup fresh I'd go with BitGo for this, they have a really nice service and it's wonderfully secure.

i only know site which offer sent bitcoin only with sms not need an account and bitcoin address, you only will get email/sms which contain with verification code to sent or received it, i know it from this forum and here is their thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.18032056 but i don't know if this site legit or not, never try it before

IFTTT.
You will need to get the notifications via email, when you send or receive bitcoin from your wallet. Then make an applet like "IF email then SMS"
Of course you don't want to get a SMS for each email you receive, so forward the email to a new one that you will use only for this. In your email settings you must have something like if email come from XXX, or email with title XXX then send it to [email protected]. Then you will use this email to make the applet using IFTTT

Try https://www.coindera.com they provided to sent alert via email and international SMS (I don't know it's really free or not). Honestly I'm not use such a service/site.

I'm usually use https://www.blockonomics.co which sent me an alert via email.

Web wallets are the only service that has this feature to send sms when receiving and sending bitcoins to anyone and so far, coinbase is the only service I only knew, but there's no way that coinbase can have what you are looking for, for importing and for watch only wallets because they are totally an exchange site
