My gmail account is hacked by someone. It's [email protected]
Can anyone help me to recover it? Hacker is trying to stole my BCT account.

If you have a phone number or recovery email attached to that account it would be easy to recover.
Sometimes we tend to forget the password and we might think that it's hacked, if you connect your phone number to your gmail account, it's impossible it can be hack, since it will be access in different location, google will ask confirmation for your account.

That's my experience and I just want to share based on my experience.

The gmail email address itself can easily be recovered since it think you set up security questions and alternate email addresses to recover it in case it gets lost. Now it gets a little trickier if the hacker manages to access your bct  account since there's a strict policy i think when it comes to changing email addresses, mainly for security of it's users. It would be better ans easier if you could recover your email address first.

You should go to google account recovery page. The process will be easier if you link phone number or alternate email to your gmail, but if not just follow what the page says, hopefully they will help recover it for you.

For some other ways, I tried recovering my gmail before by calling their representative before.

They asked me few questions that I was able to answer (forgot those questions) and after few minutes, they sent me the login details.

Try to use forgot password option and you can find some of the recovery options available for you,if you added any mobile number to your gmail means you can use OTP option to recover gmail.

It depends, but you should be able to get it back if you have created it and remember every information about it. The hackers surely has changed the password and all the other information so that you can't get I back but Google should come in your help and ask you a few questions like the day when the account was created, the security question, the IP you have used to created you account and more like that to make sure you are the real owner. If you answer those correctly you should get you account back.

You can email the company and answer safety questions.
Or if you have linked it with a phone number you can try to restore it by zip code

Yes, you can still recover your account as long as your contact information inside of it are still active, like your mobile number, they will send a verification code for changing your password by clicking *Forgot password* option. You can see a different option from there and you will recover your account.

Wouldn't this be a bit of an issue because the hacker would be logging into your gmail account from another country though and it say don' recognize device?
Not if you're using TOR/non-residential VPN's/proxies yourself. It will just stop asking you at some point whether or not you recognize the device i'm pretty sure.

But i don't think this is the case here.

When did you stake it? Before this incident or after it? If after it, then I doubt it is really a strong proof. Do you have any previous posted bitcoin address that you still control right now? Maybe add a signed message from that address too.

Exactly, if you staked it after changing the password then it isn't going to help you much in proving you are the real owner of this account unless this address was posted in an unedited old post of yours.
How would it not be strong proof? Because the hacker could've posted it? If so, then there was no way in the first place to prove that the current owner is not the real owner of the account anyway.

It would be stronger than anything which the counterparty aka the "supposed hacker" is able to offer. Whoever stakes their adress first (the "hacker" or you) probably has the best chances of recovering it.
(If it were to come to that.)

Your personal email any email that you use cryptocurrencies, should have a 2fa enabled.

As others said, there are some security questions that you may answer and get your mail back. Phone number associated with account is also a good option

Yesterday, after losing my full access from it. No, i didn't use any BTC address before.

Often, you need to prove ownership of the account with a PGP or Bitcoin signature. This has two steps:

 1. You need to show that the PGP key or Bitcoin address is associated with the account, for example by referencing an unedited post in which you posted the address.
 2. You need to sign an appropriate message with that key/address.

So, If he wants he can access to my account by reporting with 1st used email. I think i have nothing to do without praying  Cry . Hope everything will be okay.

Whenever you change your email  address, the forum allows the old email owner to lock the account within 15 days as a preventive measure.
So at worst, the hacker will lock your account.

By the suggestion of one hero member i stake my BTC address. Hope it will work and i think this thread will be a strong proof for this issue.

I assume you mean by "changing email and password" is of your bitcointalk account
that won't help you much because the initial email registered for your account is the key
the hacker can impersonate you and use your old email to takeover (via recovery process) your bct account Lips sealed

Unfortunately i lost my phone with sim card about one months ago. I am trying to get back my sim card. Yes, i have changed my email and password for security. Thanks for the idea!
This is biggest problem you have now. You should work this out weeks ago, right after you lost it.
Smartphone is in modern days key to your email and many other accounts, you should protect it and recover it asap.

Yeah every email service provider has several ways through which you can recover your email account in case someone hacks into it or possibly you lose your log in details. Try using the forgot password button which should be slightly below the log in button. You would be provided series of options through which you can rectify your account. these questions or answers needed are alternative methods of recovery that you did during signing up on the email. Make sure you have these details and getting your gmail account would be very quick. Hope this helps too Smiley

If you don't have those alternatives backup such as email. the number, another email, and questions if you don't have them just like what to me before it's probably no way to recover it that is why it's always recommended to add even a phone # only.

Unlike yahoo mail that they can give you 1 month if the owner is not online in one month they will give you the email backup without verification.

If you set an alternative gmail account or number for that, you can recover it. However if not, it will be hard to recover that specially if the hacker have set 2fa security already. On the other hand if your BCT account wasn't hacked yet, just change your email in your profile so the hacker can't revcover your BCT account from your gmail that he/she hacked.

Gmail usually prompts someone to verify through a recovery number or email if there is a new login from a different device... I am quite surprised the hacker just got into your account without difficulty unless he/she had all your details or you didn't add any recovery options

Forgot your password is your best bet right now. Try the option that may suit you better. Like there is an option where you can fill in your last password, another one asks you to fill in the month and year you created the account, and the last one will ask you for a new email address so that the gmail team can contact on how to recover the account.
You just need to know some details about your account.

Follow the recovery process. It will ask you for things that only you may know. If you verified your account with your phone number then it will be easy to recover it.
It is always possible to recover your bitcointalk account. Use this thread to prove ownership of your account:

Gmail has its own recovery method like security questions, back up email and numbers..etc

Got to https://accounts.google.com/signin/recovery then answer some security question.
