Shadowstats.com has interesting graphs and statistics measuring "real" inflation versus "official" inflation.

This is a good site, beat me to it.

Its quite easy to verify inflation numbers.  The method is published and you can go out and track the prices yourself (at least in the UK).  You may find your personal inflation differs because you don't buy a car, washing machine, Scotch whisky or nappies.  That doesn't mean the inflation is a lie though, its an average and probably wont apply directly to many individuals.  In a country as large as US i'd expect notable differences between states, just as there's differences in UK between regions.  Is there state inflation calculations?

Here in California it seems some prices are rising, especially at the grocery store, so I would say that there is some inflation happening.  Nothing serious though, yet anyways.

It depends on how you define it, how you measure it, and how you report it. There is plenty of opportunity for disagreement.

If you look at the money supply, inflation is rampant. If you look at prices the way the U.S. government measures them, it is very low. If also you include food and energy, it is moderate. If you also include the prices of houses and financial investments, it is very high.

Hi

Is there really higher inflation in the usa? Media say no, alternative media say yes, nobody provides any real proof :-).

doesnt anyone have for example some price prospects  from the year 2007 until now, so we could measure the price increase?
