I think this is the best time to be picking up some of these Altcoins, especially the good ones one missed out on their tokens sale, the thing I observed in the space is that people only buy, when the price is up which to me is a wrong choice but if you buy when the price is low the risk is very low of losing money

I somewhat agree. If you are feeling that you won't miss the chance jumping on the van, you won't miss a thing. Altcoins will keep following other TOP alts and bitcoin and bear trend will keep going for 3 to 6 months.

Currently the market is slowly recovering and if I had the money to buy alternate coins when the price was low I would’ve both them, but right now it is slowly increasing as well as the altcoins too. And hopefully this’ll go on until the end of this year, but I would not give so much hope on that because I don’t want to expect too much also.

Unless you are looking for a very long term investment, virtually all alts are just following bitcoin price, in fact most alts are getting weaker and weaker including big ones like eth or ltc, compared to bitcoin. I have been trading bitcoin only lately because there is really no point in trading anything else right now. Until we see the market recover and stabilize a bit which could happen soon or could take years, I really don't see much point in buying alts for the short term.

Alts are doing good still for short term too. Yes most of the altcoins follow bitcoin price. But its not always the same it just depends on the stability of bitcoin price.
You can refer to the todays market update its green despite bitcoin is low still.

Agree that alts have taken a bigger beating than bitcoin. Alts outperform bitcoin both on the upside and downside so this is expected. Market is taking long time to recover so have to wait it out.

I agree, for now short term trading for alt coin is not the greatest idea, the dropping keep on continue and the price recovering are too long, it's not that you can't make profit now but the risk of losing money in short term trading is too high, but if you seek for long term, this could be the perfect time to buy

Wait for the right time to buy it since most of them are following the trend of Bitcoin so you are likely going to notice that they are slowly rising too when Bitcoin does rise. But since Bitcoin is dumping lately you should notice it already and buy your trendy altcoins that you can hold for a long term starting today since it was dumping lately, you should have enough opportunities to hold more.

This is the perfect timing to buy your favorite altcoins especially those altcoins you've believe that has a really big potential in the future because if you will not buy now you will regret it for the rest of your lives. Always remember Bitcoin doesn't need us, we need Bitcoin and that is same goes with the alts.

I don't see why you are so sure that any current alt coin will actually survive in the future, most of them are dead already and there is no guarantee that any of them will have more value in the future than they do today. It's a fallacy to think that way.

You are right, the crypto market index is controlled by BTC. Whenever BTC goes up, price of all coins go up and vice verse. Price of majority of Altcoins are on the floor right now and it's up to us to buy them before they went back to the sky. Ethereum for instance was over 1000USD a few months back and right now it's around 400 USD. Those who understand the market know its the right time to buy BTC and Altcoins

Prices may go down lower. at the end of this month. But I think this is also a good time to buy the altcoin. All of them are close to the bottom. and are now waiting for growth again

Depending on the view and plan of investment or business of each person. In my way of thinking. The altcoin market is now suitable to buy and trade. Actually altcoin is changing to more balance than bitcoin. Too many gadgets are created and almost the competition is on the rise. I personally bought NEO along ETH and my strategy is to trade. ETH is also very low value and depending on the trend I can switch plans from trade to hold for a longer time.

Altcoins always follow bitcoin price, when bitcoin goes up - the alts go up too. But they make a more significant profit as compared to bitcoin and usually outperform bitcoin. But when bitcoin goes down - it's better to stay out of alts, they can bring significant losses. I used to have a number of altcoins in my portfolio that decreased in value up to 90%.

I don't agree myself, I'm swing trading on alts and making more BTC in a week than I would trading USDT to BTC, my BTC value is slowly climbing.
When to buy and when to sell are the keys to profit, in both a bear and bull market.

Even in a bull market, holding for a fixed period doesn't bring the same profits as selling at peaks and moving your coins around, in a bull market I hold based on BTC activity or the coins strength, if I see a turn in either I sell back to BTC and wait for things to correct again.

In a bear market, I take smaller profits and move them around between coins based on their position, when everything is at the bottom the BTC dips don't impact alts as much compared to a dip in a bull market.

Unless they are some obscure alt coins, I feel like top 20-30 coins are always behind bitcoin's price so there isn't really much point in swing trading them instead of bitcoin, bitcoin has better swings than eth or ltc, for example.

Hello mate I think buying an altcoin for just a short of term is applicable for those who are professional traders here. Their experience can lead them not to engage when the weather is not favorable in there side. They can manage the loses to regain again. Eth will recover soon I also wish for that. Hopefully soon it will.

It is a very good time to buy any coin since most of them are damn cheap, you can buy and hold those coins for a period of six months maximum and they will double or triple the current value. It is always good to buy when price is down and sell when price are up, you can choose buying now as per the current market situation. Choice is yours on which coin to buy and do a clear analysis before investing into alts.

General rule in Do your own research on crypto and buy the f*cking dip, At this moment we are concerning of the price movement especially on bitcoin price coz. It's like a domino they are all in touch of each other so whatever the trends looks like they all follow to bitcoin's trend.

that's true, sometimes a lot of wrong perceptions, nowadays many people buy because of its low price, but when prices fall again they become panic. they just think of a profit, without an analysis and they want to get rich quick.
for me one of the investment objectives is to generate profits. In general, investment objectives seek profit, To earn a fixed income in each period and to establish a special fund, such as funds for the benefit of expansion, social interests.

I think in terms of price there is validity in investing in bitcoin or the high cap coins. Only the problem, you might miss the train on some projects.
I think there are a number of very good projects that have just been recently listed that it would be great to own some. This is expected of course as the technology matures I feel you should have your money where you wouldn't lose sleep over

For now, I don't think it's the best idea to buy alts. Wait until they actually bottom out and then buy. I'd say that would happen when bitcoin reaches around $2000 and the entire altcoin sector is in turmoil.

But holding your existing alts until the bullishness comes back isn't a bad idea at all.

In a bear market alts will fall quicker than BTC, and if you invest now with the intention of trying to get profit in a short period of time, it's not going to happen. Although if you are holding for the long run, you can definitely get a profit by buying in right now.

Safer options like Bitcoin and Ethereum etc. are also a good investment.

Short term is trading. Long term - investment. For trading, in crypto is always a good time, as this market is very volatile. Investors are now hurt to look at prices. But this will change and we will see how some alts will rise relative to the BTC again.

I agree with you. It is better to invest in ICOs. According to analysis tokens of exchanges give good gains. For example there is lccx.io - looks like promising exchange based in London.  Well developed white paper, experienced team, located in politically stable jurisdiction.

buy the dip and sell the high is rule, this dip is not the first dip to happen nor it is the last one, most of the alts are in accumulation phase and keeping in mind a long term strategy, one should buy the dip while diversifying, you may never know one when might hit the jackpot so in terms of investment perspective it is a decent time to buy some alts and forget about them. someone else will appear to buy your bag, just HODL.

Altcoins have always followed bitcoin, they make a significant profit in the uptrend, but also they can make big losses during the downtrend of crypto derivatives. The best strategy during the downtrend of the market is to work with bitcoin or use short positions in the market of crypto-derivatives. Also, you can make profits in stable tokens like tether, but there may be problems with it.

That really depends on what you call short-term and long-term investments. We hope to see the market recover this summer and if that is really going to happen then buying alts now and holding for about 4 months can turn out to be very successful. The coins are down and if one's funds are not then now is great timing! Well, if you feel paranoid about investing in altcoins then you can just buy bitcoin. I am sure we'll see its tripled price in 2018, most of us are. That might be not so much, but it's still great profit imo.

in bear market ppl trade for more alts, and some ppl still get profit.
still we need some ppl to buy in this situation or market never recover
Because they are trying to take any opportunity from the bearish trend of market itself. By bought more and more altcoin at the bottom and they are expecting to get profit as soon as there will be another jump again and they will be sitting on the decent profit just in short time. But that's always become the best  way to do at bearish trend.

even for me at this time that see this less stable condition we can use. Especially that Altcoin price is currently in a very difficult market conditions to predict. If calculated then Investing with Altcoin with a short time is the best option, Altcoin is not a good investment used in the long term, Altcoin too much risk so that the best time is to make decisions when it is seen profit margins. To me that little profit is not a problem, because the most important thing is that I can earn a stable and regular income. It will be much better because we will earn a sabil income every time.

now is the best time to invest . most alts are already at dip and market will recover by the end of this month . if you have some funds (only what you can afford to lose) ,then start investing in some solid projects and you'll thank me later .

People have been saying that since january and yet here we are, dipping even further. There is no way to know if it's going to recover at the end of this month or even at the end of this year in fact it may never recover to ATH. I personally think that most alt coins will die if the market eventually recovers. There aren't even that many solid projects. Look at top alt coins, tron nr.13 and verge nr.20  Verge is borderline a scam and tron copied their whitepaper, are those solid projects?

Correct our all predictions failed but what to do we don't have other choices, I too think the market will not recover at the end of this month but i have little bit hopes that the market will recover at the end of this year. I don't have hopes on all projects but i think the main projects like BTC, ETH and NEO will recover ASAP.

That is how I have always viewed alts. Last year, people thought, finally, some alts are moving independently of Bitcoin! But I have always seen how alts move up and down with Bitcoin. Sometimes, it happens in the converse manner, but never for long, so I think people also look for this pattern sometimes - as in, alts go up while BTC goes down.

The proof of BTC being still the best is now. See % of decline from ATH and most alts are doing far worse.

What you say is true. Currently altcoin prices are declining, if you buy altcoin for trading it seems unfavorable, but good for long-term investment. If already purchased, then hold, patience and wait until the price goes up. This will take a long time.

for me their are still good alts that are worth investing in, like omisego and appcoin, but it is only my own opinion, you are still the one who will decide when, what and where you'll put your money in.

It all depends on individual risk taking capacity because if one can take a risk and invest in some good altcoins in this downtrend then they can expect a more profit when markets recover back. But people who wait for markets to recover back then they may miss the chance to buy good coins at a lower price so their profits will be less. But when you invest for a long-term then better never buy any shit coins instead go for good ones.

Altcoins at current situation is very cheap, instead Bitcoin is also cheap and you can buy any coins validating the potential of that now to get maximum returns in the long run. Buying when the price is down or cheap is the biggest rule one should follow in this crypto market and definitely the price will shoot up probably in another two to three months.
