The alpha release is just a code release at this point. But you can try and run it yourselves, just don't expect the world with it.

Wow I'm damn excited for this. This site is trash on mobile websites (no optimization), and TBH, its very boring compared to some other forum softwares, but I do have to say its extremely fast. Anyone know any features that will come from new forum software? Will the posts and users be migrated over?

Design is the easiest thing to change, if a site is coded correctly. The underlying backend is a lot more important than they way it looks.

Probably not.
Theymos spent a million dollars on the new forum software. I think really experienced dev will be testing it out.

I think someone said the first Alpha release is sometime in august.
I don't think so, and btw, it will take some time before it's going into public beta, I think a year or something...
