The ones speaking negatively about bitcoin are newcomers and those who lack information and understanding of it. The brief decline in the price of bitcoin has no impact and is unrelated to the technology it provides. Bitcoin technology continues to remain secure and its recognition will keep expanding.

The price will shortly rise again. There is a cycle. The market can not always be positive. Some investors will withdraw their gains and reinvest when the price declines. We can keep holding because, based on its historical pricing, it always returns and will increase further.

There's no future for crypto since every year there's always many coins become dead coin since the owner scammed their investors and it keep repeating for every years, which mean if you invest your money on crypto, there's a big chance you will get scammed regardless any other market situation like bear market or bull market.

While Bitcoin has a bright future since Bitcoin has been exist since 14 years ago and still keep developing until now, there's no coin can compete Bitcoin about the decentralization and you could achieve 100% anonymous with Bitcoin.
Many celebrities and billionaires have invested heavily in Bitcoin. We can distrust the character of these rich people, but we cannot disbelieve the vision of these rich people. Despite 13 years of development, Bitcoin is still in its early days. Digital currency is not a pure scam. Bitcoin is supported by the underlying technology of the blockchain. If it can be used as a means of payment and transaction, and can provide me with faster and more convenient tools, I am still full of unlimited expectations for the future of cryptocurrency.

In fact, if you follow the crypto market, bitcoin and altcoin fall and rise all the time, and it is possible to make a profit on the crypto market every day.
In the long term, bitcoin has always had big ups and downs and these are normal cycles in the crypto market.
I still remember my friends laughing at me when btc fell from its peak of 19k in 2017 to less than 5k a year later.
I didn't get excited about it because I knew the trend would reverse and it did when btc rose to 69k.
Now we have a downward trend again and btc fell to 16k, but that cycle will also reverse, you just have to be patient and wait.
Yes, there is a future for bitcoin and crypto, don't worry  Grin

There absolutely is future growth in Bitcoin and crypto.  It seems during these bear or crypto winters that these same questions repeat themselves, but when it's over the praises of Bitcoin and crypto are sung loudly again, even more so.  There will also be a future for Bitcoin and crypto as long as fiat is around, and this isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Every market cycle is that, at $60k BTC people talked about few hundred $k BTC, when it goes down exact opposite happens despite being a lot more room of growth.

Sometime later people will talk about why did I not buy BTC this time.

I guess there are adoption fluctuations along the way. It can't be avoided. Bitcoin's price reacts to news and the conditions of the bigger crypto market. While Bitcoin's fundamentals remain as is, the public's perception could change. Outlooks could turn bullish to bearish, to bullish again, and so on. So when a huge crypto player in the market like FTX crumbles down unexpectedly, Bitcoin's adoption is certainly affected. Even those whose belief and trust in Bitcoin's fundamentals are always solid will have to take actions of their funds according to arising possibilities.

Are big businesses and institutional investors abandoning Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?

I think IMO that institutional investors are even the reason that the price of bitcoin is still holding strong to this time without falling deep as it is speculated because they are not dumping but are hodling despite the negative information on the media but the technology is well understood by the institutional hodlers. Back around four years ago, majority of bitcoin was in the hands of pocket investors or individual investors who only buy few but currently, even exchanges invest in bitcoin.

Well, most people are likely suffering from losses before that's why we can't blame them to be like that way or they were clearly believing from the what the others been saying that Bitcoin is a bubble/scam that's why most of them would invest during the bull run but don't know when to exit to get a profit. They were just inexperience in this market that's why.

But if you are here for a long time in this market you would probably know why Bitcoin is acting this way and everything about it was recorded online. Although, there are people who doesn't know how to look at the market chart that's why most them get panicked or simply they just don't do their own research when investing something especially in Bitcoin.

OP, your thread sounded to me like it is saying as if crypto is dead again? It has died and revived many times before and there have been reasons for both, the price appreciation as well as dumps. Instead of getting bothered about the growth of Bitcoin and crypto, you should consider it an opportunity to buy btc cheaper now and also invest in some good projects with the potential to rise in the future. People said we will buy btc below $20k when it was $65k, and are now skeptical about its future?  Grin

Are big businesses and institutional investors abandoning Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
No.
They're even more interested in bitcoin because we're about to hit again another halving within 2024 and they know the impact of it. They might be abandoning some due to the collapse of FTX and other projects connected to it.
But, it is for sure that they're not abandoning bitcoin and many of them are starting to be visible in the market unlike before, there were too many against it and told a lot of fud.
Well that is exactly right --I did not even hear about the El Salvador government selling the bitcoin that was purchased this year and the other year. So possible they are still holding it right now and waiting for a chance to have their targeted profit.
Bitcoin has been tested so many years in the past history --which is most people now do store the value of bitcoin instead of using it as a peer-to-peer payment transaction.

You need to understand how the market moves so that whatsoever anyone is doing whether negatively of positively would not make you see the market from another perspective. We can't change the market movement or our actions to make the market to stop moving. We can only predict the market which is not always that accurate.

I don't know why some people are talking negatively about Bitcoin and crypto just because of this bear market. Despite I am newbie with little research I still believe there is still future growth for Bitcoin and crypto generally.
Despite the day-to-day challenges of Bitcoin, we still see the bright future of Bitcoin. We have faith...
What you have heard ( negative) is a part of crypto development. Criticism gives way to leading these people to the wrong path and skipping away from opportunities that they will regret.

Have Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies' underlying principles changed?

Nothing has changed. The volatile nature of the market remains and we keep seeing the up and down of prices, and the risk - all are natural.
Volatility is a normal thing that moves the market whether to the bull side of bear side. What we need to be doing now is to buy and left the negativity to people that cares about it. This is a one time opportunity for us to buy and hold in respective whether the market will still go downward or upward.

Do you know that it has been said in the past that computer softwares doesn't have/cannot be upgraded in the future as from that time, they thought that software systems are already on its peak. But look at softwares nowadays, it has improved a lot.
It's the same thing with Bitcoin and other crypto. The thing is, there's a good chance that humanity won't be able to attain the highest potential of technology.
Do not think that technological advancement is limited Smiley

Given that, of the other unmentioned specific reasons, I highly believe that Bitcoin has a great future ahead, so does it's value.

ever since bitcoin was release and the price gone up, people always tell its a scam, that the price is going to zero, 12+ years later they are still throwing stones to bitcoin but here we are still standing, i just think that bitcoin is here to stay, no matter what they say in fact, those people who are saying its going to zero are one of us, they are just feeding on fear of others just to get more bitcoin, while others have little knowledge of what really blockchain is that they are using it in their daily lives, it sudden me that people forget to know better of things, and just say something about it, without proof, but they will know it when its too late, good for us.

Bitcoin & even crypto have a very big part to play in the future of finance. If you look at what Central Banks have been doing, printing fake money, inflating the supply, you will see that there is room for other forms of payment. Governments actions have allowed sickening inflation numbers, they are stealing from you.

The powers that be will fight us but cryptocurrency is going nowhere. You can protect your future & your purchasing power by buying digital property, bitcoin.
I’d say rather bitcoin is the future. So we should learned to take advantage on every opportunities on hand that will make us accumulate and store bitcoin. And while others are into fiat investments and altcoins panic buying too, the best is to focus on bitcoin. The current bearish market will never stay for good, so there’s always hope for us to see the good things to happen with bitcoin and cryptocurrency. There is a bright future waiting ahead, especially for bitcoin.

Businesses will always be wary of Bitcoin for as long as it's volatile. That should change given enough time, as Bitcoin has less block rewards, more people using it, and therefore the volatility not being so extreme. People will also tire from the constant inflation they're battling against, and the constant recessions so people will eventually be looking for an alternative, and Bitcoin being deflationary by design makes a lot of sense.

In short though, when the volatility decreases, adoption will increase. While it remains volatile, we'll have a lot of speculative investors, and therefore a lot of panic, not a lot of adoption from the bigger businesses around the world.

The year 2022 may be the worst in the history of crypto due to the successive crises of successful hacking attempts and wholesale thefts, the latest of which happened to the FTX platform, which affected the entire market due to the impact of a large number of services that were associated with it or in a cooperation agreement with it.
Why 2022 is the worst?
If Bitcoin really reaches $100k in 2024-2025, I thought everyone will say "2022 was the best year for buying crypto".
We only think 2022 is the worst year because the bearish isn't over, while there are many cases to happen. But these cases give some big lessons to every people, we become smarter and more careful to manage our crypto assets. Also, because these cases lead to more drops in crypto prices, we can take advantage to buy at lower prices. Do you realize these, mate?
The year 2022 witnessed the fall of many major players in the field of crypto, including trading platforms, the latest of which was the FTX platform, which collapsed early last month, November, and even networks such as LUNA, which also collapsed a few months ago after one of them succeeded in hacking the network.
On this chart, there is a breakdown of many disasters that occurred over the past year, but they do not include successful hacking attempts, which did not result in significant damage :

Have Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies' underlying principles changed?

Yes with cryptos and no with bitcoin, there have been alot of cryptocurrencies that have presented hardships on it investors by not maintaining their stand but only manipulate and fake things for investors to have interest in their scam project which only exist for a while, but nothing has change about bitcoin consensus protocols with blockchain while other cryotos are centralized currencies with inconsistency most times.

Has the technology behind bitcoin and other big coins undergone any negative changes?

No, bitcoin hasn't but altcoins have done many implementation that has affected their reputation with varieties of changes, you can check PoS to confirm those under it.

Comparing this bear market to the previous bear market, has adoption progressed down?

Bitcoin adoption has always been increasing since this is just high volatility season for bitcoin a d a normal thing that has always been.

Are Bitcoin's and Crypto's use cases decreasing at all?

This is same with the previous question you asked, bitcoin has always been edged over other cryptos, recent event prompt many to withdraw their asset from CEX and convert them to bitcoin.

Has the technology behind bitcoin and other big coins undergone any negative changes?

blockchain technology and cryptography never do bad things, both make the world better!
There is no bad or good tool, but it may turn out that this tool will fall into bad hands and then it can be used for harm. For blockchain technology and cryptography everything will depend on how it will be used by mankind. Let's see what will happen.

Comparing this bear market to the previous bear market, has adoption progressed down?

I see a lot of countries and cities starting to adopt bitcoin as a payment, hence an issue about declining adoption - totally not true.
Bitcoin adoption is gradually continuing. Step by step, more countries and cities are joining this. This process is not fast enough to attract much attention, but it continues.

Are big businesses and institutional investors abandoning Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
...

if you look more broadly then big companies and also investors are very concerned about bitcoin and cryptocurrency, the majority of them see bitcoin and crypto is the future and very tempting.
The funny thing is that some of the big companies that used to say bitcoin was bad are now talking about it differently. Now, as they say, they see the future and new opportunities in this. Actually, that's exactly what it is.

To tell all of the following if the majority of your questions were no. In general, you would be right.

There is opportunity and no indication that growth will slow down.

But remember to evaluate the risk, and how much risk you can tolerate. And stop panicking the bear market it is just for a short-term.

In this life, criticism is a constant, whether it is directed at good or bad things. There are those who disagree with how Bitcoin is developing on a global scale, but Bitcoin remains at the top because, in contrast to other cryptocurrencies, it has a distinct and transparent future that will keep it moving forward no matter what people think. I would like to add more investments to my portfolio during this bear market in order to increase my profits.

Yes...
There's still alot of hope for the future to this impeccable finance theorem.
There's nothing that is happening today that hasn't happened already...maybe, countless times in the past and peeps back then were able to sail through 'em. The deterioration in value of BTC over time, which is termed as the DIP, ain't happening for the first time, neither is it gonna stop happening.... This actually gives rookies some time to join the moving train, just so they could be carried along swiftly.... I Know how the pressure is when it gets to this point, so the bulls will just have to pull out whatever value the had innit and it keeps going down...but ofcourse as I said; it all happens in a stipulated time (it's not exact though) but the whole advancement(either ways) are predetermined by the increase in demand, availability and bull's logical antipathy.

Since it doesn't happen yet, we can't claim that crypto has a big role in future finance. But I agree that crypto makes the government and every party improve the world finance system. Crypto is more transparent, faster in transactions, and has cheap transfer fees. These things become a reference for a better financial system in the future.

IMO

What do you think?
Was bitcoin meant for the institutions or for the masses that fills our world.
The institutions as we have it today are simply taking there chances as they should. Bitcoin of the moment is some huge investment to those who know and they try to exploit it for its benefits. Most of us practicing holding arr guilty of that and its cool.
Pulling out to get your ROI isn't anything bad as well for most of them. At least, it dumps it and creates a buying opportunity.

The fat still remains that, people would buy and the next thing, its back to being bullish. It has happened several times and we've always got our bitcoin each time.

Unfortunately, users do not know that this is not the first time that this has happened, and that crises have continued since the emergence of crypto. Therefore, they do not know that this market is able to overcome its crises because it is practically not subject to any central authority. They also do not know that the crypto market is an emerging market and naturally it is an active field for scammers.
