They claimed there's a limit of 5000 people

Yeah and my dumbass cousin is in a MLM scam called scentsy and they have "3 limited spots for new team members" . Which means, they have unlimited spots and they need to create the illusion of getting people on board. When they're down to "1 position left" be sure to ask them who the other people are that signed up and if you can join a chat with them or meet up with them! It's all eating glitter and farting rainbows until you question these scamming asswipes. Then you never hear from them again.

First, blockchain.info is not scam.
Second, someone trying to scam you with some trick using blockchain.info which does not make the owners of the website scammers.
I personally use the website since the existing and i can say at 100% blockchain.info is not a scam, but the person trying to scam you.

Lol #1 isn't true at all, but I do agree that obviously this wasn't blockchain.info that you where talking to.

Google "blockchain.info hack/scam/private key algorithm". Have a fun read. Use cold storage.

blockchain.info isn't a scam , been using them since the day I started using bitcoin and they are good ( there are better options though )
this person is clearly trying to scam you , not sure why he insists about blockchain but make sure to check the link in case you want to log in to blockchain
I remember there used to be a scammy link when you google blockchain wallet , so you gotta check the link

about cloudmining we all know it's not safe , and the given rate in the OP is 100000% scam cause even real mining with 0$ electricity costs won't generate that

You weren't speaking with blockchain.info support.

Whoever you were speaking with was trying to scam you.

have never seen any legitimate person talk to me about a Bitcoin transaction using anything but wallet addresses (e.g. 1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr). Nobody needs to know where your wallet is stored, or if it's a Web wallet like blockchain.info supports.
Not only never seen - never WILL see. As you said the ONLY thing you need to receive BTC is a wallet address. In your example, the donation address for Sidehack and his ongoing miner dev projects  1BURGERAXHH6Yi6LRybRJK7ybEm5m5HwTr

For you to send BTC to someone all you need is their address to send to. There is no 'Friend' access function to wallets. Never EVER give someone else access to your wallet keys.

Also when you do the math, it just doesn't work out. If you provide .1 BTC, where is the supposed 1.7 BTC going to come from in a week? If this was offered to 1000 people, that would be almost exactly the entire BTC produced in one day of mining. Does that make sense to you? What about if it's offered to 10000 people. That would exceed the entire production for the week.

I'm already 99.9% sure it's a scam I would just like to know HOW they plan to steal my money lol. So here's the conversation I had (Scammer responses in bold):

Hello Sarah....I'd like some info on earning BTC. I've seen a lot of scams out there and nothing seems legitimate.
Sarah Austin accepted your request.

Hello friend
Glad you are interested in bitcoin mining
You don’t have to give anyone your wallet ID and password friend
I mine bitcoins on blockchain wallets.By connecting to the mininmg stream i can mine 3BTC weekly.Would you like to know more about this?
When I say scams I mean ("oh pay $600 and you'll get 2BTC a day etc...)

Yeah I'd like more info

You can earn 3btc weekly, cloud mining has been able to make this possible..and it only works with blockchain wallet.
Using the ant miner hardware mining at 16Terahashes per second , 1400w and also the newest BM1387 with 0.09w/Ghz , with a GPU of  70-100mh/s

Sorry don't know a whole lot about Mining that sounds like greek to me. Do you know where I can find an explanation of the terminology?

To start mining you need a mining blockchain wallet directly from mining stream.
There are three mining processes. You can get started with 0.5btc, 0.3btc or 0.1btc

I have a wallet with blockchain.info
what else would I need?

You need a mining wallet from block chain mining stream
I need your email to request for your mining wallet friend

email is [email protected]

You have to decide which mining process you can get started with to proceed

ok and where/how would I make this decision?

There are three mining processes. You can get started with 0.5btc, 0.3btc or 0.1btc

ok how about 0.1

0.1 Bitcoin equals
733 US Dollar
With 0.1btc you earn 1.7btc weekly and the miner gets 0.01btc as its charges weekly.
I just requested for your mining wallet friend
Your mining wallet will be sent to your email
Login at blockchain.info
Are you following friend?

Ok so does the miner take their fee from the 1.7btc earnings?

Yes friend

So I get 1.7 btc and they take .01 btc from that leaving me with 1.69btc that's what you're saying?

Exactly I’m glad you are following

Ok so what's the catch? Let me guess...there is some start up fee or something? Because that sounds way too good to be true.

0.01 Bitcoin equals
72 US Dollar
That is what the miner gets weekly if you start with 0.1btc
The miner can accept 5000 users so you see how many charges I get weekly

When you say "I start with 0.1btc" what do you mean? Are you saying I need to pay that to get started?

You don’t have to pay to get started.
The miner does not mine below 0.1btc so whenever you make withdrawals and your btc gets below 0.1btc it stop mining automatically
Are you following?
Have you received your mining wallet?

I received a email from blockchain yes

The mining wallet default password to blockchain01
You are required to change your password and verify recovery phrase to maintain self confidentiality of your wallet before funding your wallet
Are you logged in yet?

Im logged in yes. I have a question

It's showing euros....how is this changed to dollars?

Do you know how to purchase bitcoin friend?
Yeah block chain is in euros

nevermind I changed it to dollars it's in preferences.
so now what do I do?

You have to fund your wallet friend
Paxful.com is the site you can purchase bitcoins
Buy bitcoin instantly | Paxful
Buy bitcoin instantly, sell bitcoin, spend and accept bitcoin
paxful.com
Paxful is a trusted site and has varieties of means of payment.

I thought i didn't have to buy anything
that's what you said earlier "You don't have to pay to get started"?

That was a reply to the question you asked friend
You need the minimum of 0.1btc to gets miner activated
With 0.1btc you earn 1.7btc weekly and the miner gets 0.01btc as its charges weekly.
I told you this earlier friend

Ahhhh and there it is......
earlier I said
When you say "I start with 0.1btc" what do you mean? Are you saying I need to pay that to get started?
you said no....
now you say I need to fund this wallet with 0.1btc?

When you asked this
When you say "I start with 0.1btc" what do you mean? Are you saying I need to pay that to get started?
I said you don’t have to pay to get started
All you have to do is fund your mining wallet with 0.1btc and start earning
The miner does not mine below that friend
There are three mining processes. You can get started with 0.5btc, 0.3btc or 0.1btc

ok......be honest with me here...0.1 btc is approximately $727.....is this the part where I deposit $727 worth of bitcoin and then someone steals my bitcoin out of this wallet? Is that what's going on here?

They proceed to tell me that the account is secure as long as I change my password and recovery phrase blah blah blah and say that I can't use my current blockchain account because it's not connected to their miners. They also showed likely fake screenshots of their blockchain.info account. As you can see from the conversation the person talks like a robot and keeps calling me "friend" lol.

SO MY QUESTION IS THIS AS I'M CONVINCED THIS IS A SCAM.....

What method are they going to use to steal my money after I fund this account? Is it the wallet ID? The recovery phrase? something else? Those who are familiar please let me know thanks!
