ASICs will impact some coins, but there are ASIC & Multipool resistant coins as well.  If they take hold then GPUs can still compete well through 2014.  I just switched one rig over to Vertcoin, it does take some time to get the settings right for 0 HW errors.

Most of my hash power is directed at Scryptguild currently, because I hold onto LTC also.  I didn't see the option on Clevermining or Wafflepool to hold any altcoins at all.

Thanks!

My plan was to use a pool that switches to the most profitable coin at the time to mine and then pays out in btc.    The electricity here is decently cheap so I should still be ahead some.  Plus the adventure sounds fun. Smiley

Are you saying that the asics will make card mining obsolete?

A whole rig with three cards each of which cost like maybe 300$ brand new? I think the deal is awesome but it all depends on when you plan to sell the LTC which will bump in diff and value with the scrypt asics.

I have the option to purchase a rig with 3 new 7950s for 1 btc ($565).

Is this a good deal?  I want to get into mining altcoins and converting them to btc.

Any advice is great!  Thanks!
