Jolly? I think I've heard that name before. hmm
Thanks for the attention that has been given. This has probably been a pretty tough weekend for me, I have a lot of reports to make and several deadlines to meet. So I'm in a bad mood, and the word "kids" offends me quite a bit. Maybe it's better if I lock this thread and ignore it.

Today I had a meeting with a client and my project proposal was accepted. It puts me in a good mood. Happy weekend everyone

Is this a normal thing in this forum discussion? I have nothing against differences of opinion, but I think there is no need to insult the interlocutor with insults for which there is no clear reason.
Well, there is no perfect forum, and the forum administrators are pro against freedom of speech so more likely, you really will hear some harsh words.
I've seen some here being cursed, some are including their parents, etc. and that's more harsh than you just being called a kid.

The word "ethical" isn't applied here especially when we are in a forum where it's free to speak. We aren't in North Korea where there are some limitations. I guess if you want to stay longer here, it would be better if you train yourself to read harsh, and bad words. I don't have a thick skin TBH, and I'm not used to being criticized, but I guess I'm lucky that no one here is talking harsh about me. Cheesy

It's an open forum and anyone can use any language they want. However, we are civilized people, perhaps the most advance people communicate with each other. Advance in the sense that we are bitcoin enthusiasts. We understand the economy and can somehow predict that crypto is the future of all currency system. But majority people in the world do not even know that cryptocurrency exists. Those who know, from them majority still do not have anything in crypto. So, don't get offended when anyone try to make you down. I don't say it's the correct use but there are few things you can follow.

Ignore the person, try to communicate as low as you can.
Grow a better skin. No one knows you in person. Who cares what and who speaks something about you. No matter it's in your favour or not.

A respect between each other's does not do anything wrong by the way.

Don't be too sensitive, mate. This is a forum where members are anonymous, so you don't know them and they don't know you personally. It's true that there are rude individuals, but as long as they don't violate the forum rules, they will likely remain in the forum. So, it's best to get accustomed to encountering such people from time to time.

Here's a simple tip: take what is helpful and disregard what is not.

Lastly, put them on "ignore".

Previously, I apologize if what I will write here is not important and maybe childish.

And you're wondering why someone called you a kid? Stop acting childish, then.

I know I was wrong but I don't think what he did was ethical to discuss with the term “kid” which I think was purposely done to belittle me.

So, let me get this straight. He called you a kid (without a clear argument), after you basically claimed that Bitcoin is useless without exchanges (without providing a clear argument either), all on the bitcointalk.org forum? Do you see where the problem is?

Is this a normal thing in this forum discussion?

More or less, yes.

I have nothing against differences of opinion, but I think there is no need to insult the interlocutor with insults for which there is no clear reason.

In that case, I respectfully suggest you grow a pair! This isn't a kid's playground where you can run to your mommy every time another kid calls you names.  Cheesy

OP, you are taking things too personal and if you don't try to overlook the responses from other forum members, this will affect your emotions and can make you not achieve your goal in the forum. We are in a free world, where people can say whatever they like on the internet, sometimes to hurt other peoples feelings.

You shouldn't feel so bad on what he said because it is just a word but you made it feel like it is for real. Stay focus on what brought you here and ranking up. This forum has much people from different places and different way of upbringing,so you should not think that everyone will have good manners and good response to you. If you are type that don't have a hard skin,it is better that you put people on ignore. Shit happens.

What @Not your key Not your BTC said is not neccesary and to me he deliberately hurt the feelings of this man.

Its not often I see arguments about those things since we all agree exchanges can't be trusted even Binance. But if this kind of belittlement already hurt OP, I think PytagoraZ really need to grow a pair. He haven't got to the Politics and Religion yet.

It seems that you are sensitive and I respect your feeling, but the forum is open to everyone, and if you try to complain about every word, you will end up leaving the forum. Respectfully ask him to stop calling you kid, and if he doesn't respond, ignore him.

Try to have a thick skin, otherwise you prove his point of being a kid.

Luckily TMAN, VOD, Lauda etc., are no longer here, our OP here is used to posts like that, maybe if you know the Forum during the TMAN, VOD, Lauda dynasty, I'm sure you will cry every day, if you deal with them.

Is this post normal, of course it's normal, check this one out.
So enough of this shit cunt snidey used tampon behavior you cuntwaffle.  be a man, stand up - I don't like you and you don't like me but I am not utilising my powers for ill like you. fucking idiot, keep this up and I will be forced to tag you for this untrustworthy behavior, using your mod privalages for your own personal vendetta is not cool and I am sure Theymos will look down on your behavior.

now admit you were wrong and we can all move on, if not we will war.. .yes TMAN will ravage you like I ravaged your mothers anus.

That's an example of a post when we knew them, but we're still relaxed and able to have coffee, try to understand what some of the members said above.

OP, you are overreacting to all the answers. Let's go through your account and the account that calls you the offensive word "child". If you look closely, you will notice that your opponent came to the forum for merit, as he clearly tried his best in the pizza contest. As you know, it is customary on the forum to evaluate posts by merits. Just look at your progress, which I would call a good move and the progress of the one who insulted you so rudely Smiley. Can you be called a "child" in this case?
But seriously, don't be a snowflake, people are different, their upbringing and education are different, where you see rudeness, others will see a joke. Take care of your nerves, mate.

I know I was wrong but I don't think what he did was ethical to discuss with the term “kid” which I think was purposely done to belittle me.
You feel bad if he called you as kid but how about newbie?

I consider kid and newbie have similar meaning to express a young person. It can be used for a young person in real life or a young member in this forum. Think it simple like this and you will no longer feel bad.

Q: Do you moderate/delete (possible) FUD, accusations and untrue information?
A: No. We don't have enough time to check every single piece of information and verify the validity of the sources. Also, just like scams - too much room for bias and abuse.

However, trolling isn't allowed. If a user is habitually posting obviously false nonsense ("obviously false nonsense" to an outsider, NOT to someone who follows or is involved in the discussion) just to stir up trouble, then it's considered trolling, which is prohibited. Such cases should be thoroughly documented in the report though (There are tons of reports that just say "trolling", but moderators don't have time to look through each user's post).

When it comes to accusations of commercial misconduct, if a user is accusing you / someone else of scamming or defrauding them in your / someone else's sales thread without providing evidence (either in the post itself or by linking to evidence elsewhere), that's considered low value and thus should be reported as such.

Q: Someone insulted me. Why aren't you deleting his post/thread?
A: Possible (since we don't have the time or resources to check) insults are also allowed as long as they contain any kind of constructive opinion, info or something else substantial and aren't off-topic. For example, posting something like "you are dumb" will be deleted as it contains no meaningful content. However, if the post is somewhere along the lines of "You are dumb. This is wrong because this website/thread/etc. has explained it's not right", it's in most cases accepted.

More simple, use Ignore.

That's why the ignore button was invented, click on it and you won't notice those responses.
If Not your key not your BTC follows you or describes you as a kid in all the topics that you create or annoys you in private, you can report and will be temporary banned, but this requires that he searches for your posts and tracks your responses.

1.  You need to have a thick skin if you're going to be a bitcointalk member for any length of time.  Complaining about what you think are rude posts won't accomplish anything, believe me.

2.  You wrote this, which is part of one of your posts that contained more than just this:

Do you really not trust crypto exchanges? I trust well known crypto exchanges, like binance, coinbase, etc. If there is no exchange then bitcoins are of no use. There is no single valuable asset that cannot be exchanged for money. So crypto exchanges are an important instrument for building trust in bitcoin. Bitcoin is an asset that has value, you can sell bitcoin whenever you need money.

If that was a post all by itself, it'd look like a typical bounty hunter shitpost that's written in poor English and contains no thoughts or ideas that aren't obvious or haven't been written before hundreds of times.

3.  The OP of that thread isn't worth arguing with, because he can barely write English as it is and there's about a 95% chance he's just here to troll.  Why you're trying to engage him in a debate is beyond me.

But the bottom line is that nobody here is going to look out for your delicate feelings if someone calls you a kid or says you don't know anything.  You either have to do it yourself (which is usually a waste of time) or put the member on ignore.  I wouldn't say it's exactly normal for someone to react to what you wrote like that, but it's been known to happen.  Toughen up.  With freedom of speech comes people saying things you're not going to like, and that's the price.

Well, you might be wrong in that post. But, name-calling for such a post is too rude. But, hey! Take it with light hearts. This is a forum where people are anonymous. Sometimes people don't miss the chance to criticize others rudely. He could have explained it to you with better words. But, he chooses not to explain and is aggressive. You should know there are some groups of people with different mind setups than yours. Sometimes they will come up with arguments and sometimes you will do the same. Take positive things and try to ignore negative things. Go forward and never look back.

Good luck!

Previously, I apologize if what I will write here is not important and maybe childish. But to me this is an unhealthy discussion.

So I commented on the thread created by Not your key not your BTC. I commented my opinion, but he fired back by calling me "kid" without offering a clear argument and kept at it until perhaps I had taken the subject off-topic. I know I was wrong but I don't think what he did was ethical to discuss with the term “kid” which I think was purposely done to belittle me.
