That is "too good to be true" and I am sure is just a scam. Better do some research first before trying any foolish moves to them. If really want to earn, just focus your time on bounties.

You will find the legitimacy project checking it on forum itself. Here anyone might be analyzed or already got scammed in that project. Keep investing on cloud mining, doubling, mining product resellers will be a worst option investing on it.
You can choose better investment option like trading or mining you will get the amount you invested in some months over all.

I was doing some research on Double Spending and stumbled on this site: glasshunt.co/exploits/bitcoin-double-spend/

They claim they allow for easy double spending?  Is that a thing?

It seems pretty legitimate but I'm not sure if it's safe.  I want to do some looking into how this works before allowing people to use Bitcoin on my blog website and things like this kind of worry me.  How would someone use a site like this?  Do they work?

Thought I saw some stuff about Ethereum too.  Can you double spend an ethereum too?

Using an Alt also since I think this might be a sensitive subject... Undecided

Dont even think about spending even some penny on them. They will try to double script or a total scam. If youre planning to spend on some vague or fishy web or forums your risk it probably high. Try to speculate some legitimacy to it and dont rely on reviews too much cause it might be paid or something.

To many scams are built around cryptocurrency world.... its easy no refunds can be made, their website is not working anyway

It is truly amazing that nobody has realized that the person who posted this thread is the owner of that site and is trying to steal peoples coins...

This is a good possibility, specially since this is his first post on this forum ever and his like check this out!

A very desperate attempt to steal money. Thanks for doing the research first pal.

why does it looks legitimate to you? I think even a 14 year old teen having used bitcoin anytime can tell you that this is fishy and possible scam.On a second thought you can give it a try as minimum amount to try it is just 0.001 btc and share your experience here rather than expecting us to do it for you.
Even if it works.i dont personally like the idea of double spend so I am not going to give it a try

You can't double spend bitcoin and if you do only one of them counts in block chain and the other one can be detected and stopped.
So no need to be worry about it and you can use and accept bitcoin in your site without any issue.

Double spends are not as easy as it seems , it is rather a rare stuff and happens at very low rates . This certainly means "This is NOT real" . All you are expected to be is careful .

of course it is a scam, what else could it be?
if the site is able to double spend WHY WOULD THEY WANT your puny 100k+deposits? 10% fee? probably the best way to get paid for other people's curiosity
not even taking into account that it is immoral and illegal to try and doublespend knowingly...
it is equal to an attempt to steal

They asked us to deposit to their addresses. If people deposited bitcoins there, they will be scammed. Double spend is difficult to handle.

What will you let people use bitcoins on your website for? I think that you can protect yourself from double-spends by accepting transactions that have been confirmed more then one time instead of 0 confirmation deposits.

Double spend cannot happen if 1 confirmation is confirmed in the network. Double spend with some tweaks can happen only when the transaction has 0 confirmation
Please stop spreading false info with your posts. I know you might be busy getting your 20 posts done today, but you could cause someone to get scammed.

Double spends can happen with 1 confirmation or even more, but more than 1 confirmation double spends are incredibly hard to do and will probably require you owning a decent chunk of the bitcoin network's hashing power. A 1 conf double spend could happen if your tx was picked up by a block, which most nodes got first, but the block is orphaned and the new block doesn't contain your transaction. This will bring it back to unconfirmed, allowing the person to double spend. The chance of this happening is very low, but it is a risk.

This might be true, but it did not work for me. I sent a small amount 0.011 BTC and the system accepted it. Then I tried to send it to my second wallet and then try to get it back, but at this step there is a warning that "something went wrong". So my funds had reminded in the address they provided, so I decided to get it back. At first there was a wrong Private Key, so I thought, sh*t I had been scammed, but then I reloaded the page at the 1st step and there was a correct private key, so I uploaded it in the blockchain.info wallet and indeed received my funds and sent it to my standalone wallet. This is the transaction: https://blockchain.info/address/1FZs5k3GA8Hn4bAyHX5MeW9rCDxbyKNejz

I've contacted the Glass Hunt team regarding the issue (decribed above) and that's their reply:

We have found the cause of most failed attempts. If your transaction has multiple inputs, then double spending does not work. Some people have been sending from exchanges and they bundle transactions together for withdrawals. So, if you try with a plain ol' Blockchain or Coinbase wallet, it should work.
Please let me know if you have any further issues.

What a perfect way to get uninformed persons coins so easily. Double spend cannot happen if 1 confirmation is confirmed in the network. Double spend with some tweaks can happen only when the transaction has 0 confirmation and the user knows how to create an exact same transaction with the same amount to spend somewhere else. This is called cheating and it won't get you far.

This is new way of scamming apparently. Stay away.

this looks like scam kind of thing , may be you try ones and again trying may not get back your bitcoin , best is to research before sending bitcoin on those and if it is legitimate and trusted then it should be ok.

first of all it is going to be a scam most probably, secondly it is illegal to do that and thirdly there are no websites that accept bitcoins without confirmations

I don't think what they offer is real, never heard about them but i know little about double spending. They have also not explain clearly what they actually offer. Even with double spending only one transaction will be confirmed so getting same bitcoin in two addresses is not real. Most of the services wait till transaction get confirmed or check atleast priority of transaction according to transaction fee used before confirming any payment to them.

I think this could be scam attempt.

to make this more clear. you can double spent your coin, but only the transaction that will be confirmed and and up in the blockchain really happend so to speak.
this might mean that either you get your money back or the person you want to pay gets the money (in that case the result is the same as a normal transaction).
but if the person does not wait until the transaction is in the chain and they send you your goods, then you basically ripped them off, since they do not get the money in the end.

so what this can not do is doubling your money by sending bitcoin to two addresses.

I don't know for sure what they did with the funds they get and returns with the way which is pretty fun. But for sure I see that it has the possibility that they were using the system a ponzi or hyip, whether it's true or not but I have confidence that the site has only a very short time

you basically give them your money and they might decide to just keep it and you could do nothing about it. but they just might send you some money to "prove" that it works in the hope that you believe it and invest net time more. but this time you never hear from them again. classic scam imho.

Seems fishy to me:

step 1: send bitcoins to our address, wait untill the transaction is confirmed  Grin
step 2: we'll pay for your goods/service, and double spend the inputs with an output to your address...

As soon as the transaction from step 1 is included in a block (confirmed), it's next to impossible to do a double-spend unless there's a fork that didn't include your transaction... At this point, you're at the mercy of the website, since they now have your coin, and there is no way to charge back.
This means the service should do the complete double-spend for you, holding on to your funds as collateral, or using the inputs from step 1... However, there is no guarantee they'll actually do this, so it might be a scam attempt (altough this is not confirmed!!!)

On the other hand, it IS rather simple for anybody with a little bit of technical knowledge to succesfully create a double spend, just not using that website.
