I came across this in my quest to check up some NFT projects. Been looking at it and not sure what to make of it. Anyone with ideas if this could become another scam?

As making some due diligence, you can check a lot of details about the project and for sure thats gonna be a lot of clue like red flags of the market. Nft is hype right now and probably the best time for the scammers to create such fake projects and lot of scam one. Be careful, not all hype oen are legits. Some are probably created to just get away with cash and just drop it.

A project renaming/rebranding in this manner raises a lot of suspicions.

Two red flags, faking the team and copy-pasting their white paper, projects that do this do not have a platform and their roadmap is created out of thin air, a project that does this are involved in hypes, they hire shills and fake traffics to make it look like that many people are investing and they want you to have that FOMO feeling

A project renaming/rebranding in this manner raises a lot of suspicions.

I even checked some of the writeups on their website and I found another website which is copy pasting a similar look - https://t20worldcup.io/

A copy paste website only indicates that a group of scammers is running both and their intent is malevolent. Though a token does exist and has been posted on coingecko, I would not take this project to be a serious one, specially when they have tried to move between Hype trends. Only quick cashgrabs employ such methods.

In other words, exit when you can or dont touch it.

Initially they were called Marcopolo protocol. Not sure why they changed to maplabs. The old website has since been off (http://www.marcopolopay.org/)

Here is their old thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5215440.new#new

Everything including the old road map seems to have been abandoned and now the changed the narrative to the current hype which is NFTs and Defi. I am pretty sure if the hype dies, the new road map and project will also be abandoned

Old road map

Check for yourself and see if they archived anything in the old roadmap

Personally, I don't trust it.
