It's a scam / phishing link, don't ever sign up with that. It's a notification that you've got since your BTT account is connected to your email.

It is not yahoo either. That scammer is modifying quoted words and putting reputable name in the forum just to scam.

This is not anything being sent from me or my account. Someone is trying to mess with users here using my name. I would suggest not clicking on any links sent to anyone in this email

My guess is some idiot sent himself a pm to his alt account and inserted my name into it. Then is pmming other users a quoted email or something stupid, but i'm def not sending anyone any of these emails or pms. I don't even mess with ethereum. I have accepted a couple payments(small payments) from companies but mainly mess with btc only.

This spam mailing has already been discussed yesterday https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/what-is-this-4816737. Be careful creating a new topic.

Your Reply was very unhelpful of all the replies. This is an email from the bitcointalk official email and so i dont know what others recieved so i could only have talked about mine.

I do know scam exists and that was not the problem, the problem was the use of their official bitcoin email as the sender.

I had already googled and seen tonnes of many other scams on bitcointalk before i asked this one

You're not only person who got same message:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/someone-is-using-yahoo62278-name-to-spread-spamphishing-4823050
It's just another scam attempt. I'm not sure how exactly they made it, because it looks like real notification from Bitcointalk. To look legit they used name of famous campaign manager yahoo62278 to attract more victims, but as he said he didn't send any messages. As user above said - it's just obvious scam scheme - send 0.2 ETH and get 2 ETH (it's even worse scheme than these classic Bitcoin doublers).
Better to ignore and dekete such messages and don't click such suspicious links.

Yes it is. [email protected] , is official bot email from Bitcointalk
You have been received this because your default notification setting was set to always. see pics links below

https://prnt.sc/kev8cu

If you don't want to longer received this set to "Never"

Regarding to your priv.message. Fourge send your message with quoting name of yahoo62278 which is one of trusted bounty manager here, so i think it is spam, just delete and ignored it. be careful with such a kind of message like this.

Thanks BamBog, I recieved the same email in my spam folder.

The option for Bitcointalk not to send notifications is exactly in "Profile" , at the left side "Modify profile" and "Personal Message Options"
at the bottom change the option "Notify by email every time you receive a personal message:" from "Always" to "Never" and click on the
"Change profile" button.

💡 Websites, scripts for BTC web4crypto.xyz
Bitcointalk sends you an email when you receive a PM (private message from another user).

If you dont have a message from Fourge, the message could have been deleted due to spam or scam report.

The message contains a fake ethereum foundation address (official ethereum website is https://www.ethereum.org/) The fake URL also uses a free domian name ".cf" and the name is broken into subdomains - the base domain name is mfoundation.cf. If the real ethereum foundation would make a giveaway, it would be visible in the real website ethereum.org.

The link is a classic scam:
Quote from: Scam website
To participate, just send 0.2 ETH to the address below and get 2 to 20 ETH back

This website simply takes victims 0.2 ETH payment and never sends the promised 2-20 ETH.

To participate in a legit giveaway, you never need to send money first or enter private keys. At most you would need to enter your crypto address (not private key), email address or bitcointalk username, but you will never be asked to pay.

Advice: If you receive an unsolicited PM with a link to a "giveaway" or "airdrop", check first via Bitcointalk if the giveaway is legit and make sure that the URL is the official website URL (for ethereum: ethereum.org). Never pay to enter a giveaway and never enter your private key or mnemonic because both are scams to steal your crypto. You can also check https://etherscamdb.info/scams for information about scams that target ethereum.

[Edit] The phishing domain is listed as scam here: https://etherscamdb.info/domain/ethereu.mfoundation.cf/ and the phishing website appears to be offline.

Please not i have no PM from a mr Fourge on my bitcoin account. Could this be a new scam? open the links that all look like real bitcointalk links and get phished? i have not opened any but would like to get help from the MOD here please and thank you!

~snip~

The message you receive from Fourge is quoted from yahoo62278 which is impossible so I think he uses the name of trusted member of this forum just to pretend that this message is legit.

If you didn't receive any personal message to your account it means that someone reported this kind of PM to a moderators and then all PM from fourge will block this is just what I think but I'm not sure.

Anyway, don't click the website link from the message and ignore it. Forge is totally scammer based on trust feedbacks
