How confident is using virustotal when checking websites?

So using a virtual machine would be the safest to test sites on?

You can check if any link is safe using virustotal.com

I just checked  it and it is clean of viruses.  However  ,  it looks to be a scam. Look at this info:

Unless there is a 0day exploit around on your browser/OS, the chances of getting hacked by clicking on a link are very low to inexistent.
You're right and I'm aware of this, but if you do not know what you're doing, it could be very easy to get hacked if you're browsing around a malicious web page, so it's better to be safe.

@OP, it's a link asking you to download this app and "earn coins" by doing so: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sky.sea.cashzineForVietnam

If you are unsure of a link you can include it in code tags, so no user mistakenly clicks on it;
Code:
https://usercenter-vmd7lf2czq-an.a.run.app/download_VN.html?ggc=56245255%7C6%7C1&t=1

I wonder if the link is save. Can we get hacked by just following a link in webbrowser?
Yes, you can get hacked by clicking on a malicious link or malware.
Some can be used to steal your personal information or to bug your computer. You can also get to a phishing link, which is a copy of an original address.

If you're unsure whether or not a link is safe, then do not click on it, and do not spread it.
