just found some guy selling 10k account bitcointalk.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--1914772

maybe those account are hacked.
It clearly wasn't real. The thread has already been removed which probably means it was fake. Who would waste their time hacking 10 thousand bitcointalk accounts. They aren't even worth that much.

Does anyone remember the user who created that thread ? I was recently contacted by someone to escrow a deal involving a sell of 20 bitcointalk accounts for $140.I denied it but someone definitely would have escrowed the future scam.

This is one of the reasons why it is hard to trust newbie accounts. Check the rank of the account first before any of the above. Most of the newbie accounts and are selling higher ranked accounts are 90% scams. That alone is a trigger point on to believe or not of what he/she is selling.

I don't think anyone is able to have this amount of accounts without all of them being Newbies. And even if they are, its still very hard to believe someone created 10k accounts. Probably just a scam, and maybe that's why the thread was deleted?

Maybe not 10k accounts, but definitely a large chunk could have been compromised. It's not self-made accounts but rather accounts that haven't changed their passwords and were retrieved using the database hack (on weak passwords). Those accounts in the seclog you see waking up may well be examples of said hacked accounts.

It is likely that the few accounts that posted the threads were compromised and the perpetrator was simply doing it for

a) attention
b) fake example of volume

It's unlikely that they would have actually sold the accounts and in reality, it's probable that it was simply a ruse to scam. When you have a number of accounts that are disposable, you would use them to earn more bitcoins - morally or not. What with loans being difficult to receive without a signed message, this is a trifling task that can potentially earn a sum of cash from an ignorant consumer.

Ofc it is not... He is lying and he don't have any accounts. Mods already deleted the thread and i don't even need to see the thread to say this.

Forum gets spammed from time to time and it is one of those times again. Do not click any link in a thread created by a newbie account. Do not watch his youtube videos. Don't mix being greedy and being stupid, dangerous combination  Cool
