If that was satoshi then hes probably lost his private key and thats why hes not cashed out. Either that or he doesnt want to crash his creation.

The Craig Wright thing doesn't add up. There's supposed to be a tx of 1.1m BTC. Where is it on the blockchain and why are Satoshi's coins still where they always were?

https://bitscan.com/articles/something-about-the-new-satoshi-isnt-wright

I'm trying to find another explanation and the only ones I can come up with are
1) Someone else has 1m BTC
2) The doc is fake

I have to say, that the guy certainly looks like someone, who would use the blockchain technology to create a get rich quick scheme that is based on artificial scarcity.

The story at gizmodo:
http://gizmodo.com/this-australian-says-he-and-his-dead-friend-invented-bi-1746958692
What I understood from it is that there were several people working on bitcoin, but the lead was Dave Kleiman (aka Satoshi Nakamoto),
and both he and Craig Steven Wright mined between 1 and 2 million bitcoins. Since Dave Kleiman died in 2013, his brother Ira Kleiman
is in possession of the wallets(s). Something to keep in mind, about the possible fate of bitcoin hoarders, quoting from the article:

Kleiman was confined to a wheelchair after a motorcycle accident in 1995, and became a reclusive computer forensics obsessive thereafter. He died broke and in squalor, after suffering from infected bedsores. His body was found decomposing and surrounded by empty alcohol bottles and a loaded handgun. Bloody feces was tracked along the floor, and a bullet hole was found in his mattress, though no spent shell casings were found on the scene. But documents shared with Gizmodo suggest that Kleiman may have possessed a Bitcoin trust worth hundreds of millions of dollars, and seemed to be deeply involved with the currency and Wright’s plans.

it sounds like he want to ride the satoshi name, just to be famous, and that's it, i don't care what he said or what he is

as long as he don't sign the address of satoshi, he can not convince anyone here besides those journalist

That's true!
Only a signed address is a 100% proof.Or he moves a very tiny amount of the old coins.
However this is huge marketing imo.You couldn't get any PR better than that. And the price keeps rising!

If this guy really is Satoshi, would his life be in danger? I'm sure a lot of banksters would at least want him dead for creating bitcoin.

Right, because Bitcoin is wired to self-destruct in the event Satoshi's heart stops.

Well, Satoshi's had 4/5 years off to work himself up into a batty egomaniac. Stranger things have happened. Perhaps this fella will emerge at a conference in a full on Satoshi supersuit and sign a message from the genesis block while fireworks explodes from his arse.

Of course his life would be in danger, that's why I don't believe in these stories! This guy is way to smart to be found this easy. All these stories are just like Dorian Nakamoto story to me.

Also I don't cease to be surprised on the levels of rumors about Satoshi. This is like becoming a world's biggest mystery, who is Satoshi Nakamoto? Smiley

Don't jump to conclusion, maybe he asked for their protection.

What makes you think so? Not likely at all from my perspective. It also reads this on the article;

Quote
The Australian Federal police said in a statement that the raids were not related to the bitcoin claims. “The AFP can confirm it has conducted search warrants to assist the Australian Taxation Office at a residence in Gordon and a business premises in Ryde, Sydney. This matter is unrelated to recent media reporting regarding the digital currency bitcoin.”

Boldings are mine. If Wright would have indeed asked this then it sounds like it does relate to the recent claims. Also what the taxation office would have anything to do with it?
I don't believe to everything I read, I read between the lines. It would be really a big coincidence that police is at his door exactly at this time because of tax report or something other than news that he is Satoshi Nakamoto.

This makes me sick actually. And it is also exactly the reason why Satoshi is hiding. This makes it look like he is a terrorist.
Let's hope for him he just got a little bit crazy and convinced himself he was satoshi somehow.

he is a terrorist. i can prove it (quote from guardian article):

Dorian is more like Satoshi. I do not think Satoshi would own many business and still have time to create bitcoin. Bitcoin needs dedication.

I don't understand how i never have heard of this guy?
Obviously blog posts can be faked but but there's an external liquidity report linked which shows he owned at least 200,000 bitcoins in 2013.
The report would be pretty hard to fake and should be verifiable.
He also owns the #1 most powerful privately owned supercomputer (C01N operated by Tulip Trading - lol) which is obviously bitcoin related.

Even if he's not Satoshi he looks like a big player in the bitcoin space...

Probably bullish for price since things like ETFs are required to have public knowledge of who owns huge amounts that can manipulate markets up or down.  The details of this so called trust basically state it's purpose is to pump Bitcoin to the moon.  Sounds bullish to me!

it doesn't matter anymore since bitcoin is not operating with satoshi. bitcoin doesn't need satoshi anymore. his goal was to let people take care of it and bring bitcoin to the next level.

Convincing or now, every evidence shown in this case could be fabricated with ease. They based their assumptions on bunch of old blog's entry and 'leaked' emails.
These type of evidence is not so hard to manipulate. Until I see some further proof there is no need to believe that this guy is real Satoshi.

Hmm. It's certainly more compelling than some guy having mostly the same name. It all seems a little odd that it sounds like he was constantly quasi chomping at the bit to expose himself. I would've thought it would be the last thing someone like Satoshi would want. As ever let's see some signed addresses.

Looks pretty convincing to me.

I'd say knowing with more certainty what the faith of his >1 million BTC stash is (if he is willing to tell) will bring stability or an increase. Markets don't like uncertainty.
