Its kind of pointless, seeing as we now have multi sig which can do this.

No, not an escrow per say.

You have an online wallet, same as a regular wallet; payments can be sent to it and it can hold a balance.  The wallet has (for simplicities sake) two owners.  Once the wallet is "locked" the owner list cannot be changed.

When one member wants to spend coins, he indicates the address, the amount and a memo describing the spend.  The other member must click on an "agree" email link in order for the transaction to go through automatically.

It would be a great way for two or more anonymous people to collaborate on a project without needing absolute trust in the person that holds the coins.

You mean escrow? I mean if people had a business and wanted people to spend coins on behalf of the business? I have no idea.

I have an idea for an online wallet for bitcoins that is managed by more than one person.

Basically you cannot spend the coins in the wallet unless all parties agree to the spend.

Do you think this service could attract customers?  Is there a need for it?
