You can always escrow the funds with a trusted member of the community and bet on a last number of a certain block.

He can, but I believe that he just advertise his ico, or he just have some connections with that ico.
Headline and topic are not connected, probably fair bet with a friend and lottery, he just disguised his intentions.
I wanted to play some games in money with people from here, but that always ended in the same way, people always are suspicious that someone will use bots for playing, like bots for chess, poker, yazee, and some other games. Any attempt to try to play this games with other members from here failed. The best gamble with friends is live play, face to face with cards in front of you and placed bets on a side, in that way nobody can cheat and use help of programs.

No connection to the lottery, but it gave me an idea for a 50/50 bet, as well as smaller giveaway purposes, real live rng, testing strategies, etc.  Not sure how I disguised my intentions, but I'll know not to mention or describe other ico in any way in gambling discussions.
On the topic of live games, you can just play someone live over skype in games like chess or checkers if its set up right and you can see their hands and the board, just duplicate each other moves, I probably wouldn't do it for money though especially with strangers.  That's what I like about games with complete information, you can play chess with someone on separate islands as long as you can send the moves over via a light, flashlight, etc.

If your friend is trustworthy than there is no need for any escrow but if not than you can put another (third person) common friend as escrow in your bet.

We can even bet at the last number of the block hash through https://www.chain-bet.com/ like established platform where we even don't need any second person. Its probably fair because last digit of block hash is always random.

There are also few telegram bot which draws result from the last bitcoin transaction hash.

Other ETH smart contract based platforms like vdice offers probably fair blockchain based games.

Yeah I came across chain bet, definitely cool.  I think the last two digits of world dow is definitely second best after hash betting, but first in term of weird, unusual, verifiable, real world random data.  Also say there is a giveaway, would be very easy to ask viewers to send in a number with an address, if their number wins, they get the prize.  4 pm draw, easy to check.  Also would make for a sick dice cite, if data is drawn say every 30 seconds or a minute, no one can question the results than, or any need to verify your results the complicated way.  Also there are a ton of markets, someone on a bad run can switch markets, similar to switching seed I guess.

Not the best but still good to use as a medium for a betting game with your friends. Since the site updates information in real time then the changes on the last two digit number can be easily varied. But the problem with this kind of game is you need to monitor the result on the exact time you agree since the result varies every second and you will have no record as a basis for the result. That's why many gambling sites base their game result on the Transaction hash in the blockchain since there is a record available.

I've herd of that but could never figure it out, can't really see the last number of anything.  But I know what you mean, like those sketchy back in the day send any amount and get double if your transaction is this or that.  Although there are some legit ones, but I think there are two separate addresses.

Say you and your buddy wanna make a bet quickly and efficiently over the web.  I saw this lottery ico that is based on last two digits of world dow, the actual lottery is complicated with lots of choices and multipliers, but it got me thinking.  The last two digits of world dow appear to be random, and range from 00 to 99, not unlike a dice game.  I checked it out and you can get the data for any hour and any day from anywhere in world with a computer and internet.  Say you and a buddy decide to bet 10 bucks in crypto for 4 pm, he gets high, you get low, 4pm comes the same two numbers should show up everywhere.  Check it out, the last two number after the decimal.  https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/index/gdow/charts  Trusted friends and trusted clubs can probably gamble edge free among themselves.  This reminded me of Kramer betting on airport delay times against a highroller.
