how someone can have 287 activity? it should be either 280 or 294 or so on

You can easily have an activity score which is not a multiple of 14.  Recall that activity is based on a series of 14 days periods in which you have posted at least once then:

max(post-count, active-periods*14)

For people who have post count > than active-periods*14, their activity is always a multiple of 14.  But for people who's post count < active-periods*14, their activity is their post count, which obviously doesn't have to be a multiple of 14.

I hope this helps.

Theymos changed the way activity is calculated now and it probably wont update till they become active again.

Previously, every hour the server went through every single post in order to recalculate everyone's activity. This was amazingly slow and for some reason it's now blocking other database transactions occasionally. Therefore, I changed it so that activity is only calculated for people who were active recently. The only change you should notice from this is that deleting a bunch of posts from someone won't affect their activity until up to an hour after they log in next.
Why am I unable to access the quote you made? When I click on the quote, its shows :

Code:
The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

Why so?

Yeah, most likely a staff-only section except if theymos has decided to start posting in the Trashcan. Wink

I wouldn't get too bothered over activity. If it is truly wrong then the system will fix it anyway, and considering how the new system apparently works a returning poster is unlikely to even notice any problems.

That means it is posted in a section where only staffs have access to it. Its like a meeting place for them
