I just saw that Tiger Woods is on the Leaderboard coming in on Sunday's Val Spar Championship (I know, I've never heard of it either but it is still a PGA tournament Wink ) and has a chance to make his 80th win on the tournament circuit.

I thought he was never going to make anymore wins to break of the old time record holder of tournament wins in the PGA ever again since he had all those toxic episodes in his life over the past 5 years with his wife chasing him with a golf club, OTC drug abuse and getting pulled over and put in a detox facility, being part of the frappening along with his then girlfriend Lindsey Vonn (she had her phone hacked into as well) and whatever else the media did not disclose in the public eye.

He has not won a tournament since August 2013.

The best to not being able to win a single tournament since then, you thought this guy's life in golf was over and done with. Undecided

I'm still in the opinion that the guy is too old. What has changed over the 5 years he has not won a tournament that would make him win this year? All that is happening is that he is getting older and older each year and he can't do anything about it. The thing is, in sports the younger players will have the better chance of winning against the older ones.
To old? You do realize what sport we are talking about with the players just standing there hitting the ball. They rarely get injuries like they were sustain if they were on a court or on a pitch constantly moving putting stress on their knees and legs.
Arnold Palmer played until he was into his late 70's.
So age has nothing to do with it.
It was his back that was giving him grief (I work at a desk job and I have back problems with just sitting there Cheesy ) and he had surgery to correct that so it seems it is not longer an issue for him to get back on to the greens and win some more tournaments. Grin

Regardless of what sport, I think too that age matters. I'm not too familiar with the sport as I only know Tiger Woods. But an initial search from Arnold Palmer says his last win was in 1975 which calculates him being 46. Not sure if that was the last one since my research is just based on wikipedia. Since golf still involves a lot of movement even just for hitting a ball, its still an advantage to be young.
Arnold Palmer died late in 2016 so I must of been thinking of Jack Nicklaus because I remember seeing one of the old timers playing four or five years ago in a tournament and remembering saying to myself, this guy is still competing against these young guys and still kicking their butts. Grin

Tiger is competing in the Arnold Palmer invitational tournament this weekend.

I think it's high time that he retires from the sports altogether because he hasn't been the best foe some time but it has nothing to do with his age because i see Federer winning trophies and beating far younger people than him.

Well as everyone should know by now he did not win the tournament but placed second to the overall winner Casey.

But this does shows he still has the drive to participate in these PGA tournaments and make the cut.

His next tournament this weekend, he has a better chance of winning it because he has won there eight times in the past so has more confidence playing there. He is use to the formation of the course and definitely has a better chance in knowing where the kinks in the grounds are. Grin
I believe in him too knowing that he has still the potential to be great because he was already one. I think he could really win the next tournament that you are talking about and I think he just needs to check out his opponents too.
Though we also needed to consider his age and just like what you have just said, his  opponents inside this next tournament might be his concern, he
might still have the grip and his sway but each time newer talents has been developed and players also desiring to be on top, I believe if dedications
and lust will stay in his heart Tiger Woods will still recognized again as a champ and add another portfolio to his career.

Age plus the various injuries he had might also contribute as to as well he can performed in the next tournament his entering. I think he still has it, no doubt about it and just basing on this tournament, I think he is back and I'm sure that he can still win at least 1 tournament this year of maybe a majors, who knows. Still good to hear though that Tiger is back after what he'd been gone through his personal and professional life.
The injury to his back put him out for the longest time and even when he thought he was ready to return, he wasn't because he could not make the cut.
But now it looks like he is 100% from his corrective back surgery so we can finally see now where his destiny lies:
To be known as the greatest golf player of all time or just fade into obscurity due to poor decisions in his personal life and of those life choices in general.

I am not a big golf fan, but very nice to see Tiger Woods back! He has done some crazy things in the past and hopefully he can now focus 100% on the sport. If he can do that, than no doubt he can win a couple of tournaments.

I am not very much known about tiger woods but next Ronaldo he is the one, who is earning big profit in sports and ad field. I know that is best player in complete golf history. Perfect person to bet while you invest on betting.
I personally love the Tennis matches, Whenever federer and Jokovic playing the any match.
I don't watch match. Profit will be on our head for sure.

As a child I adored tiger, he was the reason I used to watch golf in the first place but with all the negative events in his life I lost track of him, thanks for this post. If you know tiger well he's a born predator and when he's in full swing he'll go for the kill, he'll be rusty no doubt but he's performing well. I really hope he wins it for all his fans.

Yeah, reading the news, I was a bit sad that the didn't won, but it looks like he is serious on his comeback now. He falls short but he did give us thrills watching him again play and see that fire in his eyes.

It was his best finished (2nd place) for nearly 5 years. Another worth mentioning is that Sergio Garcia is still alive and playing very well, and get the 4th position. Lol.

Although only managed to finish in the position of T15 from 17 participants Hero World Challenge, Tiger Woods appearance in the Bahamas at least last week has provided entertainment and should be given appreciation.

Total Woods only collected a score of 4 under par for four days of the match. In the first three days of his stable appearance he was able to take him in the top 10 of the leaderboard, but unfortunately in Sunday Woods's final rounds set down three double bogeys and three bogeys which put him out of the final round with a score of 4 above par after five birdies.

"Why does Tiger Woods wear two shirts?"
"In case he gets a hole-in-one."

 Smiley

I hope he wins. Comeback stories are great. Its always sad to see young and talented people have their lives and careers be destroyed by substance abuse and the temptations that come with success. If Tiger Woods can overcome that I'll be happy for him and hope he can serve as an example to others. Looking at the results of the last round, it looked like Tiger scored -1 under with the leaders being -6. It is possible that Tiger is losing momentum, he did better in the earlier rounds. I hope he can pull it off.

Same here. Though there are more people who came back and and so so careers after than those that went michael jordanesque. Tiger woods would certainly be competitive but i don't know if it's going to be the same dominant tiger woods that we'll all see
For now we can only have presumptions on the things that he might done but in my own view he would really make a comeback and i guess he did already learned a lesson on his past experiences with such no good involvement with women and substance.I thought he do already mess up his life and would end up on his gold career and now we are seeing this.Theres still hope for a good comeback  Grin

Every thing that happened to him every experience that he made there's something in him that wants to come back and relive the old times because that's how greatness works and I think he is one of the greats when it comes to golf. Well we all know what happened to him after the controversial thing but still he wants to reclaim that and would like to be better off being a champion rather than the scandal itself. Probably if he somehow wins the tournament again it would continue and just focus on the golf part.

I just looked at the matchup odds ( https://www.bitcoinrush.io/sportsbook/golf ) and they have Tiger Woods against Brandt Snedeker at -136 only.

I think it might be an entertaining and probably +ev bet.

I have to scramble and check the latest news about Tiger when you posted this. It looks like YES, and he is just 1 behind the leader. Yeah, I agree, his downward spiral took a toll on him and he was totally forgotten and everything we did remember was his bad episodes of women in his life. lol.

Well, I hope he wins this tournament and really glad to see him on a comeback of comebacks.  Grin

I absolutely hope so.  He's similar to Allen Iverson in NBA where he was the best and most exciting player at the time and did so much for bringing people to the sport just to fizzle out.  Really hope he makes a comeback.

I don't follow golf regularly but I know some of my friends were discussing how they thought laying 80:1 against Tiger Woods winning a major in 2018 was good odds.  I thought this was kinda absurd.  Just checked now and just for the Masters, he is down to 10:1.
