Trump is behaving in an unbelievably stupid manner. The US will not gain anything if they force Germany to abandon the plans for Nord Stream 2. Germany purchases pipeline gas from Gazprom, because it is much cheaper than the LNG from the United States. If the US want to capture this market share, then they should lower the price of their gas rather than bullying Germany.

The NordDtream 2 gas pipeline will provide Europe with gas at a price that is 20% lower than the US can supply the equivalent gas. Trump alleges that it will give Putin too much control over European politics, so he is threatening a trade war if the pipeline goes ahead. US sanctions have damaged the US in the past, and led to the creation of the AIIB amongst other things.
Will these new sanctions cause further problems for the US? Perhaps Trump would be better off if he tried to compete with the gas supply at a commercial level rather than political, what do you think?

Trump is acting like a gangster more than a politician imo.
He tries to impress some people who are easy to convince about anything that looks good or that may look benefic for their country, however it is the opposite effect that will happens for sure.
The police of the world is more isolated than ever and will end by loosing allies.
If you want to boost your economy, you have to endorse profitable industries, not by creating stupid trading war that will rise the price of the us citizens...

This are the symptom of a crumbling system. All talks about capitalism, freedom, globalization are by now just only empty words. The USA is trying by brute force to have Germany (and Europe) to go against their own legitimate interest and damage themselves by buying the less convenient US oil instead of the more convenient Russian oil. Long term this approach will isolate the USA more and more.

i dont understand what the issue is, if putin can sell gas to europe cheaper, let them compete. i dont understand why we have to be hostile on russia or russians they also support cryptocurrencies.
