11 militants from ISIS-linked gang killed in anti-terror op in Russia’s North Caucasus. The special unit blocked the area and surrounded the bunker, advising the militants to surrender, but the group answered with fire from automatic weapons and threw several grenades. The first skirmish with the militants resulted in reported five dead among the group. Later on the number of deceased terrorists grew to eleven, National Counter-Terrorist Committee reports.

RT spoke to Jurgen Todenhofer, the first Western journalist who was allowed to enter territory controlled by the so-called Islamic State. A year ago, he spent 10 days among the terrorists, also visiting Raqqa, the capital of the self-proclaimed caliphate.

Maybe the Russian intelligence services aren´t in the freakin bed with these terrorists. I don´t know; I guess terrorists look for easy soft targets where they can set up their operations without too much interference. Also for publicity, in the western world at least, Paris in France carries more weight than Makhachkala in Russia.  Western presstitutes and other morons might go on for a few days about how it´s pronounced. No emotional porn binge equity for them there.

Nah, Putin's loving it. Rising levels of nationalism in Europe play right into Putin's hands because it weakens the EU. "Divide and conquer" is the name of the game.

Yeah well, there´s more than one way to skin a cat. The Russians have of course been happily watching the European Union turn into some kind of a modern and kinder Soviet Union. There´s a rubberstamp "parliament", bunch of kommissars that nobody voted for, politburo et cetera. Tony Blair was even supposed to become its "president" at least that was an idea that was floating around from some politburo members but understandably and very thankfully soon sank to the bottom of the lake. I guess he wasn´t supposed to be voted into office in any election except maybe by a selected few.

Not sure how this soviet experiment will last, the many cracks are obvious. Its demise seems inevitable, not least to the Russians, they have first hand experience after all. It´s just a question of time.

IS spoke person has been shelled to death.

For years, Abu Hamza al-served as a PR man of the IS. He made many reports on cruel executions. This militant could not hide his pleasure, and sometimes he personally participated in the executions. His last words were "brave revolutionaries just got a control over this place".

France and now Russia? Jesus. Have some respect.
In the past, aggressors that have launched 2 front wars where one side was attacking Russia have not exactly fared well.  (Hitler, Napoleon.....)

Best thing for Putin to do is make the Russian Orthodox Church (a Christian church) to be the official church of Russia, and give the Russian Muslims a chance to convert. If they don't convert, kick them out of Russia. If they DO convert, make them join the military in a separated fashion, so that their Christian fellow soldiers make sure the conversion is real. Smiley

This strategy was tried earlier, in the 17th and 18th centuries by the Russian Empire. Most of the Muslims living in the Empire (especially the Tatars, Bashkirs, and the Circassians) were forcibly converted to Orthodoxy. But 80% of them went back to Islam, once the power of the Orthodox church weakened in the 19th century.
Yep, that was a failure indeed. On the other hand, many of them kept their new faith. One of my colleagues, for example, is christian tatar.

They threatened Russia and attacked France. They could not really understand the flag?
Well it was kidding but you know. Threats are no important. If they do real attack just be scared. Try to stay away from crowded places.

ISIS is essentially a localized mafia. All they can do outside their Iraq-Syria fiefdom is threaten.
Russia won't be terribly worried about these threats. Russian retribution is usually swift and deadly.

Not that easy. There can be problems in russian muslim regions. Like in the caucasus for example. Or with the russians fighters that went to syria to fight against assad. There are probably thousands of them there. And they will return home at some point.
There are dozens of cases when son or nephew came to the police after their father or uncle returned from Syria.  Some of them even used a physical force against their relatives in order to bring them into police. Another well known practice is blocking the entrances to house, which is owned by family of IS member. After that house is being doused with gasoline and then set on fire. The road is blocked, so firefighters can't drive there and house burns to the ashes. End of story.

Islam is not that easy, please don't believe "there are some abstract muslims in the Caucasus and abstract Putin is abstractly afraid of them" narrative. Almost all of religious population in Chechnya or Dagestan are very strong followers of sufism. Sufists believe that IS members are representing the devil himself, that these "messengers of Hell" must be eliminated. They even have some quotes from the Quran in support of this point of view. You're virtually dead if you ever had said something good about the Islamic State, this belief is so strong that they rarely ready to forgive even their own flesh & blood.

Well, they may not drink, but I pledge to buy the beer anytime these guys are around.  Or whatever they want in place of beer.

“Where are you going?” he asked Nasrudin.
“I am going,” said the Mulla, “to be hanged on those gallows.”
“I don’t believe you.”
“Very well, then. If I have told a lie, hang me!”
“But that would make it the truth,” spluttered the captain
“That’s right,” said Nasrudin. “Your truth.”

You are right. That is the reason Putin chose to battle against Russian Muslims fighting for IS on  the enemy territory, and not on his home ground.
ISIS will have hard time when they decide to oppose Russia openly. Russians are not Americans, they don't negotiate.

I dont think IS will achieve anything with their threats to Russia. ISIS threats to everyone cause that is what terrorist do but in Russia case that could cost them a lot, specialy now when Russia search way to get back in high game.

ISIS has to threaten. If they don't, they are beaten entirely. Let them attack. They will be beaten in their attacks just as they have been beaten in Syria.

Islamic State has released a video threatening attacks in Russia "very soon" in revenge for Russian bombing in Syria, the SITE monitoring group said on Thursday, and the Kremlin said Russian state security services would study the material.

Al-Hayat Media Center, the militant group's foreign language media division, released a video in Russian with chants of "Soon, very soon, the blood will spill like an ocean", SITE reported.
