Considering that there are speculations that Vinicius might win the ballon d'or...do you think he is or will leave a better football legacy than Neymar??..
In my own personal opinion though i think Neymar was unlucky to play football in the era he did.prime Neymar was competing with players like ronaldo and messi while vini has to compete with mbappe, bellingham, lookman and the likes.Neymar finished 3rd in two seasons during the messi and ronaldo era and trust me when i say that is a very huge accomplishment considering the caliber of players who were in form at the time like lewy, suarez, ibrahimovic and others.vinicius is a very awesome player but i still think Neymar was a better player and is still a better player until Vinicius consistently proves me wrong.
Competing with Messi and Ronaldo in their prime, though not without Neymar's peerless talents, is no small matter. And coming third in Ballon d'Or voting over the years-which would normally be considered excellent as you said Neymar has not had too much luck in that department. Besides, he raised the bar in terms of talent, creativity, and talent, too. Often regarded as The "third man" aside from Messi and Ronaldo. His great moments, though are unforgettable.
To counter this, Vinícius has the edge of joining an age with brutal competition that barred all-time greats from playing while these giants were in their best form. But Vinícius is on the rise and his impact cannot be denied especially with Real Madrid. But as you said Competition is the word Neymar has been at this for over a decade. Won with both Barcelona and PSG. Meanwhile, Vinicius was busy making his masterpieces. Now, I don't disagree that what serves as the greatest strength and overall legacy for Neymar. Vinícius can become an even bigger landmark if he can stay at this level. Only time will tell if he will indeed pass Neymar.
Neymar was absolutely sensational and played in an era when a lot of top players like Ronaldo and Messi were all in Thier prime which denied him the balon d'or. He did well not just for his club but also showed up big in the national team also. He was fast, smart, highly skilled and scored a lot of goals which is what was needed to win the balon d'or, if you ask me, the only reason why Neymar hasn't won the balon d'or is because of the competition he had to go against and the fact that apart from the quality that Ronaldo and messi had, they were liked by the majority of people.
Come down to this current balon d'or, who are the rival against vini jnr? You're seeing the likes of Rodri, yamal, Bellingham and lautaro. Is there any name that's close to the kind of competitors Neymar went against? It was practically impossible to know who will win the balon d'or at those times compaired to now that the competition has reduced.
It's no doubt that vini jnr is a talented player and has still managed to play well in a team that has mbape, and Bellingham and he's still shining too well. If he continues in the manner he's still playing at and doesn't get injured the way Neymar did, before getting to the age of Neymar he will likely get more award than him. Till then, he has to work on his anger issue and try to put in a good attitude against his opponent because personality wise, he's not a balon d'or candidate.
I wholly agree Neymar has witnessed enough in the Messi-Ronaldo era. Winning Ballon d'Or is nearly someone else's work. Talent, creativity. And his influence for clubs and countries is undeniable. And as you said, He doesn't just have talent. But he is also in the love of people. Messi and Ronaldo dominate the whole world, making them almost untouchable. Neymar has had his moments, though. It might also be an excellent game, though.
For Vinicius This season the competition is not quite the same. And that gives him a better chance. You're absolutely right about names he is playing against, it is Rodri, Bellingham and Lautaro. All of them possess talent although not as dominant, and in case of Vinicius, he also charts his own path. And his consistency and ability to stand out among stars like Mbappe and Bellingham. That indicates that he is ready to lead in a new era. However, I agree with you regarding his attitude. He will get a hold on his emotions and somehow improve in that area. That would add much more concrete strength to his future Ballon hunts. He has the talent. Personality and discipline make the last difference between winning such prizes. Let's see how he copes up with that for the next few seasons!
What's the need of comparison when the both players are not mates in football, this is just the prime of vinicious Jr and neymar have already reigned and his time have already passed. During the time of neymar as young player we had Ronaldo and Messi, they were the talk of football then and neymar was still making name then too. Their was much competition in the time of neymar, for me I consider neymar as a legend which I don't think vinicious Jr should be compared with him. Vinicious is doing well for himself but I don't think I will rate him with the level of neymar for now.
They are both talented players when it comes to football but with different achievements, I know vinicious is growing very well in skill but currently I don't think he is a better player than neymar.
I understand what you mean. Comparing two players at such different stages of their development is really quite difficult. Neymar was already a legend in his own time. Especially considering the playing time factor. And all that went along with that, of course, was Messiness and Ronalness The competition at an entirely other level. And well, then there's still room for Neymar there.
Vinicius, by contrast had barely started to hit his prime and although it is true that he isn't yet at Neymar's level in terms of talent, But he is definitely on a path to a future. I feel that this comparison actually stems from the fact that Vinicius is one of the biggest talents in football right now. And people want to see for themselves whether he can match what Neymar can. It might be more than that.
But you are right, Vinicius has much to prove yet before we put him on the same level. Neymar's legacy is sealed. And it will take years before Vinicius creates something similar. For now, we just have to thank each player for their unique contributions in the game. Few years We may have a level playing field. But until then It's best to enjoy what they both bring to the table.
